Helloooo Binge Watchers,

I often see people writing TV show and movie "reviews", but most of the time these "reviews" are just summaries and/or thoughts.

There's a difference between summarizing, sharing thoughts, and reviewing.

Summary: A brief statement or account of the main points of something. A summary is recalling what happened.

Thoughts: Sometimes I see people sharing thoughts and opinions but sharing an opinion, without supporting your claim, is not reviewing.

Review: A critical evaluation. State your opinion and support your criticism.

T I P S:

  • Provide an original opinion without giving away too much of the plot.
  • Avoid spoilers.
  • Support your opinion. Explain why you feel the way you do. Pull specific elements and examples from the film or show.
  • Consider your audience.
  • Assess the acting.

T E R M S:

*Challenge yourself. Try incorporating relevant terms into your review.

  • 🍿Shots: In filmmaking, and video production, a shot is a series of frames that run for an uninterrupted period of time. Film shots are an essential aspect of a movie where angles, transitions, and cuts are used to further express emotion, ideas, and movement.

  • Stranger Things Review (TV Show)
  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Review (Movie)

*Your reviews don't have to be as long as the ones above. Yours should be as long as it takes you to thoroughly communicate what you'd like to say.

I hope you found this article helpful. :D
