Once upon a time I was light
Bubblegum and golden honey
Hand knitted sweaters and bobbing marshmallows in hot cocoa
Snowflakes spinning in the air and the smell of lavender

And then I grew up
And met you

Then I turned dark
Tea gone cold and chapped lips
The taste of blood and ash
Broken promises and orange pill bottles

Then I became both
A waging war behind smiling lips

Who am I now?
It is far easier to be dark but its less harmful to be light
To this day I am still intensely intricate
