Lately I've found myself listening to songs that make me feel powerful and tbh I can't tell you when it started.

ICY GIRL

Never living comfortably, got a lot of goals to meet.

I think I discovered this song because of Loren Gray (she's AMAZING, you can find her on Instagram by "@loren") and I liked the tune, so I looked out for it and fell completely in love with the lyrics.

DOWN & DIRTY

I don't mind offendin', I ain't 'bout pretendin'.

This song makes me feel like a badass idk why, it's just so...powerful, you know? At least for me it has an amazing tune and an incredible lyrics. It literally talks about becoming successful and going on with your own shit without minding anyone else.

MOST GIRLS

Most girls are smart and strong and beautiful. Most girls, work hard, go far, we are unstoppable

A few years ago I was trying my best to not be like other girls. I just thaught that they were so...superficial. Sorry for saying that, I wasn't a feminist on that time and I'm ashamed of believing that for so long. Now, I think I stopped with that bullshit on 2015, but when this song came out...I just wished Hailee would write it and release it before. I feel every word deeply in my heart and I hope that a lot of girls with the same thinking I had a few years ago heard this song and realized that women are amazing, not dumb as society makes us believe.

SOUR DIESEL

She got it and she know she got it.

Don't ask me why, this song makes me feel like superwoman or something. I just...maybe it's the tune, or maybe it's Zayn singing about a confident woman who knows exactly what she is doing, a woman who doesn't care about being bad and actually enjoys it.

GOD IS A WOMAN

I'm tellin' you the way I like it, how I want it

Ariana knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it. Women are in control. She talks about giving "something" to someone because she wants to, and that it will blow his mind. She talks about being so good in sex that he will think he just experienced God.

FANCY

Feels so good getting what I want.

I think this song talks about being an independent woman with all your shit under control. Talks about unreachable women, talks about boss bitches that know exactly what they want and work for it.

JOAN OF ARC

I don't need a man. If I'm loving you it's 'cause I can

I stan Little Mix with all my heart. Four amazing women that believe in equality and sing about being stunning and not needing anybody? HELL YES.

BO$$

I ain't thirsty for no bae.

Again, a song about independent and strong women. You can feel empowered by every word in this song, it's an amazing feeling. Fifth Harmony never received the appreciation they deserved, they'll always be on my top 5 of girlbands.

BAD REPUTATION

A girl can do what she wants to do and that's what I'm gonna do

I remember listening this song for the first time on 2014. I felt like an outsider at that time, everyone kept talking about my bad attitude and how of a rebel I was. When I heard this song it was pure magic, I felt so powerful and decided to never let anyone affect me with their comments. Nowadays I still listen to it regularly, it always helps me to remember to keep doing my thing without caring about what other could say.

NOT YOUR BARBIE GIRL

I'm my own boss, I'm remindin' you of it

I think we've all heard "Barbie Girl", you know, that song that goes I'm a Barbie Girl, in a Barbie world, life in plastic, it's fantastic, you can brush my hair, undress me everywhere.... I like it, probably you like it too, it's a really funny and silly song, right? But if you listen to the lyrics you'll discover a lot of mysoginistic expressions like "bimbo".

What Ava Max did was write a song that opposes to the first song. It talks about being a woman who doesn't need a man and doesn't allow one to talk or do whatever he pleases with her. Listen to it, I honestly loved it and I hope it gets more popular because not everybody knows it.

THAT'S MY GIRL

Get mad independent and don't you ever forget it

If we analyze the amount of songs about women becoming independent then we will be surprised. Again, here we have a song that talks about becoming strong after a lot of stuff we've been through and end up acting like a queen.

SORRY NOT SORRY

I'm on fire and I know that it burns

Demi talks about feeling her best after someone broke up with her because (s)he thought that there was something better than this queen. To begin: that's bullshit. Women shouldn't be compared, we all have our virtues and flaws so if a guy ever dump you for someone else and later try to come back then just kick him out.

WOMAN LIKE ME

I always say what I'm feeling, I was born without a zip on my mouth.

Little Mix did it again, and know they have Queen Nicki with them (not throwing shade on Cardi, I think they are both queens. WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN). This is one of my favorite songs at the moment, I listen to it at least once a day, it's just so amazing and empowering. It definately deserves to be known by every girl in every country. Let's free women from the patriarchy and let's become our own bosses.
