hi, guys ♡. thank you so much for the support on my "november playlist" post; i really appreciate it. anyways, i wanted to dump a list of some of my favorite romantic comedy movies. it's getting cold here in the midwest, and i've spent the last three days in bed enjoying a marathon of movies to escape the rainy days. take some time for yourself this evening and watch one of these goodies (hot beverage and cozy blanket included of course).

₁. ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʀᴏᴘᴏsᴀʟ (2009)
faced with deportation to her native canada, high-powered book editor margaret tate (sandra bullock) says she's engaged to marry andrew paxton (ryan reynolds), her hapless assistant. andrew agrees to the charade, but imposes a few conditions of his own, including flying to alaska to meet his eccentric family. with a suspicious immigration official always lurking nearby, margaret and andrew must stick to their wedding plan despite numerous mishaps.

₂. 𝟷𝟶 ᴛʜɪɴɢs ɪ ʜᴀᴛᴇ ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ʏᴏᴜ (1999)
kat stratford (julia stiles) is beautiful, smart and quite abrasive to most of her fellow teens, meaning that she doesn't attract many boys. unfortunately for her younger sister, bianca (larisa oleynik), house rules say that she can't date until kat has a boyfriend, so strings are pulled to set the dour damsel up for a romance. soon kat crosses paths with handsome new arrival patrick verona (heath ledger). will kat let her guard down enough to fall for the effortlessly charming patrick?

₃. ᴊᴜsᴛ ɢᴏ ᴡɪᴛʜ ɪᴛ (2011)
his heart recently broken, plastic surgeon danny maccabee (adam sandler) pretends to be married so he can enjoy future dates with no strings attached. his web of lies works, but when he meets palmer (brooklyn decker) -- the gal of his dreams -- she resists involvement. instead of coming clean, danny enlists katherine (jennifer aniston), his assistant, to pose as his soon-to-be-ex-wife. instead of solving danny's problems, the lies create more trouble.

₄. 𝟻𝟶 ғɪʀsᴛ ᴅᴀᴛᴇs (2004)
playboy vet henry (adam sandler) sets his heart on romancing lucy, (drew barrymore) but she has short-term memory loss; she can't remember anything that happened the day before. so every morning, henry has to woo her again. her friends and family are very protective, and henry must convince them that he's in it for love.

₅. ᴘʀᴇᴛᴛʏ ᴡᴏᴍᴀɴ (1990)
in this modern update on cinderella, a prostitute and a wealthy businessman fall hard for one another, forming an unlikely pair. while on a business trip in l.a, edward (richard gere), who makes a living buying and breaking up companies, picks up a hooker, vivian (julia roberts), on a lark. after edward hires vivian to stay with him for the weekend, the two get closer, only to discover there are significant hurdles to overcome as they try to bridge the gap between their very different worlds.

₆. ʏᴏᴜ'ᴠᴇ ɢᴏᴛ ᴍᴀɪʟ (1998)
struggling boutique bookseller kathleen kelly (meg ryan) hates joe fox (tom hanks), the owner of a corporate foxbooks chain store that just moved in across the street. when they meet online, however, they begin an intense and anonymous Internet romance, oblivious of each other's true identity. eventually joe learns that the enchanting woman he's involved with is actually his business rival. he must now struggle to reconcile his real-life dislike for her with the cyber love he's come to feel.

₇. 𝟷𝟹 ɢᴏɪɴɢ ᴏɴ 𝟹𝟶 (2004)
a girl who's sick of the social strictures of junior high is transformed into a grownup overnight. in this feel-good fairy tale, teenager jenna (christa b. allen) wants a boyfriend, and when she's unable to find one, she fantasizes about being a well-adjusted adult. suddenly, her secret desire becomes a reality, and she is transformed into a 30-year-old (jennifer garner). but adulthood, with its own set of male-female challenges, isn't as easy as it looks.

₈. ᴏᴠᴇʀʙᴏᴀʀᴅ (1987)
snobbish and wealthy joanna stayton (goldie hawn) is living a life of leisure with her husband, grant (edward herrmann), when she falls off their yacht and suffers amnesia. grant takes the opportunity to rid himself of the demanding joanna -- but dean (kurt russell), a widowed carpenter with four kids who once worked for joanna, arrives and claims she's his wife. joanna can't remember her past identity, but has trouble believing that she was ever meant to be a working-class mother of four.

₉. ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴍʏ ʟᴜᴄᴋ (2006)
as the luckiest woman in the world, ashley (lindsay lohan) has a wonderful life, which all changes after she kisses a stranger (chris pine) at a costume party. she sees everything turn into a living hell, as she realizes that she has unwittingly exchanged her good fortune for the stranger's bad luck.

₁₀. 𝟸𝟽 ᴅʀᴇssᴇs (2008)
perennial bridesmaid jane (katherine heigl) always puts the needs of others before her own, making her the go-to gal whenever someone needs help with wedding plans. so when Jane's younger sister tess (malin akerman) snags the man (edward burns) jane secretly loves, jane finds herself questioning her role as a wedding junkie for the first time in her life. meanwhile, a handsome reporter (james marsden) sees jane's unusual story as his ticket off the bridal beat.

₁₁. sʜᴇ's ᴀʟʟ ᴛʜᴀᴛ (1999)
high school hotshot zach siler (freddie prinze jr.) is the envy of his peers. but his popularity declines sharply when his cheerleader girlfriend, taylor (jodi lyn o'keefe), leaves him for sleazy reality-television star brock hudson (matthew lillard). desperate to revive his fading reputation, siler agrees to a seemingly impossible challenge. he has six weeks to gain the trust of nerdy outcast laney boggs (rachael leigh cook) -- and help her to become the school's next prom queen.

₁₂. ᴡʜɪʟᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴇʀᴇ sʟᴇᴇᴘɪɴɢ (1995)
lonely transit worker lucy leanor moderatz (sandra bullock) pulls her longtime crush, peter (peter gallagher), from the path of an oncoming train. at the hospital, doctors report that he's in a coma, and a misplaced comment from lucy causes peter's family to assume that she is his fiancée. when lucy doesn't correct them, they take her into their home and confidence. things get even more complicated when she finds herself falling for peter's sheepish brother, jack (bill pullman).

₁₃. sɪxᴛᴇᴇɴ ᴄᴀɴᴅʟᴇs (1984)
with the occasion all but overshadowed by her sister's upcoming wedding, angst-ridden samantha (molly ringwald) faces her 16th birthday with typical adolescent dread. samantha pines for studly older boy jake (michael schoeffling), but worries that her chastity will be a turnoff for the popular senior. meanwhile, samantha must constantly rebuff the affections of nerdy ted (anthony michael hall), the only boy in the school, unfortunately, who seems to take an interest in her.

₁₄. ᴡʜᴀᴛ ʜᴀᴘᴘᴇɴs ɪɴ ᴠᴇɢᴀs (2008)
during a wild vacation in las vegas, career woman joy mcnally (cameron diaz) and playboy jack fuller (ashton kutcher) come to the sober realization that they have married each other after a night of drunken abandon. besides that, there is a huge jackpot at stake. an implacable judge freezes the prize money and refuses to grant an annulment, so joy and jack must try to make their impromptu marriage work.

₁₅. 𝟺𝟶 ᴅᴀʏs ᴀɴᴅ 𝟺𝟶 ɴɪɢʜᴛs (2002)
matt sullivan's (josh hartnett) last big relationship ended in disaster and ever since his heart's been aching and his commitment's been lacking. then came lent, that time of year when everybody gives something up. that's when matt decides to go where no man's gone before and make a vow: no sex. whatsoever. for 40 straight days. at first he has everything under control. that is until the woman of his dreams, erica (shannyn sossamon), walks into his life.

samantha mackenzie (katie holmes), the daughter of the president of the united states (michael keaton), arrives at college with a group of secret service agents. samantha, however, resents their presence and decides she wants to attend school just like a normal student. her father agrees to recall the agents but secretly assigns james (marc blucas), an undercover agent, to pose as a student. they fall in love, but their romance is jeopardized when samantha learns james' true identity.

₁₇. ғᴏᴏʟs ʀᴜsʜ ɪɴ (1997)
three months after a one-night stand with isabel fuentes (salma hayek) in las vegas, new york city real estate developer alex whitman (matthew perry) learns she is pregnant. despite being a terminal bachelor, alex is drawn to Isabel, and the pair marries. isabel's father, miguel (tomas milian), suspects alex has bad intentions, and the couple finds themselves pressured by both their families. when alex is offered a promotion, he is torn between his new life in las vegas and success in new york.

₁₈. ᴋɴᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ ᴜᴘ (2007)
rising journalist alison scott (katherine heigl) hits a serious bump in the road after a one-night stand with irresponsible slacker ben stone (seth rogen) results in pregnancy. rather than raise the baby on her own, she decides to give ben a chance to prove he is father material. however, he is unsure if he is ready to be a parent, and both wonder if they would be compatible lifetime partners.

₁₉. sɪʟᴠᴇʀ ʟɪɴɪɴɢs ᴘʟᴀʏʙᴏᴏᴋ (2012)
after losing his job and wife, and spending time in a mental institution, pat solatano (bradley cooper) winds up living with his parents (robert de niro, jacki weaver). he wants to rebuild his life and reunite with his wife, but his parents would be happy if he just shared their obsession with the philadelphia eagles. things get complicated when pat meets tiffany (jennifer lawrence), who offers to help him reconnect with his wife, if he will do something very important for her in exchange.

₂₀. ᴍɪss ᴄᴏɴɢᴇɴɪᴀʟɪᴛʏ (2000)
when a terrorist threatens to bomb the miss united states pageant, the fbi rushes to find a female agent to go undercover as a contestant. unfortunately, gracie is the only female fbi agent who can "look the part" despite her complete lack of refinement and femininity. she prides herself in being "just one of the boys" and is horrified at the idea of becoming a girly girl.
