Sometimes you have one of those days when things just don't seem to be going right. Earlier this week, I had one of those days, but it is okay because we ALL have them. Today's article is going to list a few things I did on my Bad Day that I feel like we all need to hear.

Be Upset

This is a really important step to start with. Don't resist the way you feel. Be angry and upset, so you can let all the emotion you feel go. When I was having my bad day, I was driving home from work and I let everything out. I found that once I had some time alone to get upset, I felt a lot better and was able to look at my problems with a clearer mind.

Work It Out

I seriously recommend the next step you take is to do a workout that you love. Run, walk, jump, skip - I don't care but just go do something that is active. Punch a pillow if you have to. Putting on some bumping beats and having a dance party to a playlist that really helps you to get all that emotion out, is an amazing mood booster when you are having a bad day. On my bad day, I went for a run to some of my favourite songs and after I felt so much better.

Accept and Forgive

Another really important step is to accept how the day has gone and forgive yourself for the day that you have had. To be able to move on, you have to accept that the day has not panned out like you had planned. It is also important to forgive yourself and the people around you for the things that you and they have said and done. On my bad day, I tried to be accepting and forgiving because although this can be very difficult, I knew I didn't want that bad energy to continue into the next day.

Talk it Out

My final step to help you coast through a bad day is to talk it out. My advice would be to talk it out with someone you trust, which can help to get the negative emotions off your chest. Also, if the reason that you had a bad day involves others, make sure you be honest and tell them how you really feel. This way, you can do something about the problem and turn it into a solution. Talking it out will also help you realise the reality of the situation and that there are so many things you have to be grateful for.
