Hello and happy November! This is my favorite month in a tie with May. It is right in between autumn and winter. It is when one of my favorite seasonal drinks comes out, pop stations and jazz stations on the radio become Christmas songs, Halloween candy is being eaten, and Thanksgiving is happening in America. Fog, rain, and snow come in and beanies, flannels, and even bigger sweaters come out.
This is my first official Word of the Season tag. I posted the details right here:
Since November is just like Autumn and Winter for me, I decided to do this article on both seasons. This time of year is just, perfect for me, it really is. So I decided to share some of my favorite memories from this time of year with you. You to can do this! Okay, that sounded so much better in my head. Cringe.
Please don't copy articles and also remember that it can be any season you want when/if you do this tag. It is your article but if you do this tag please give credit of to me. Without further ado I'll start the tag.
Word
Hygge
Hoo|guh
As Google puts it it is a Danish word used when acknowledging a feeling or moment, whether alone or with friends, at home or out, ordinary or extraordinary as cosy, charming or special. It is a Danish way of living that is all all about comfort and loved ones. Danish Hygge translated into English is fun.
Why I choose it

Why I associate Hygge with Fall/Winter

Two years ago, in the transition of early to mid December we had a half day because of snow. My dad picked me up and told me it would be the biggest snow storm we had in years. When we got home I got very excited and helped my little sibling build blanket forts. At night time my siblings and I tried to figure out if our schools would cancel school, extending Winter vacation. Mine did.
We turned a Christmas movie called something like A White Christmas. Midway through the movie it had snowed inches and inches. My siblings and I went outside and played in the snow. The green grass in front of the apartment complexes was all white and the lake had frozen over. We built snowmen and snow angels and everything. The next morning we could go into town because it was practically the backyard. My siblings and I stayed out all day, my mother made us pose for photos the whole morning and we got to go into a cafe where I became obsessed with peppermint bark dipped in hot chocolate. One night one of my best friends and I went into the plaza of town that overlooked the lake. It was dark and snow carpeted the ground. The whole vacation was great and there was snow on the ground past New Years.
Hygge makes me think of comfort, family, friends, Fall/Autumn, and Winter.
