INTRODUCTION

Happy self-care Sunday!

Self-care is so important. It's not selfishness, it's keeping yourself safe, happy and healthy. It's treating yourself like you would treat a best friend. Here are a few ways you can make sure you are caring for yourself.

1. Take a bath

Light candles, fill the tub with warm water, grab a book and a drink (just don't drop them) and even a bath bomb. Take a few minutes to soak and nourish your skin with the steam.

2. Drink tea or another hot drink (avoid coffee)

Some hot cocoa or tea in your tummy can calm you down quickly and make you happy. Try to stay away from coffee, and use it as an occasional treat for those days where you need the boost.

3. Take a walk in nature

It's fall, and there are so many things to see outdoors. Take a walk, a bike ride, or a car ride around your neighborhood or on a hiking trail.

4. Take a day off

Whether it's a mental health day from work or just an average Sunday, devote a day to caring for yourself. Sleep in, order some pizza, watch your favorite show, have a hot cocoa in bed and remind yourself that you are doing a great job.

5. Practice mindfulness

Mindfulness is so helpful, especially when it comes to self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and focusing. Ever since I got into it, I have felt much better about myself and my anxiety has been better.

6. Socialize

Socialization is helpful to our mental health and essential to function. Don't desert yourself. Call a friend, meet up with someone for coffee, or send a text to someone, even a meme. If you're an introvert like me, you do lose energy after being around people, but it'll be worth it after improving a connection with someone.

7.Take a power nap

Remember the good old days we took for granted in kindergarten? Well, now you're an adult, and you can nap whenever you want. Try keeping it under 30 minutes so you don't go into deep sleep and wake up cranky.

8. Write down your feelings

Get your feelings out on paper in the form of writing, scrapbooking, art, or a combination.

9. Hydrate

Hydration is really important! Keep yourself thriving and awake by drinking lots of water, especially in the morning. Infuse it with lemons, mint, fruits, or let it be. Drink however you want to!

10. Get a little exercise

You don't always have to run on a treadmill for an hour or do something vigorous. I mean, if you can, that's great, but you can also do yoga, stretches, go for walks, or just take the stairs to burn a few extra calories.

Also, I just want to mention the app #SelfCare. (Not the tag, the app.) I really like it! It's good for self-care tips, calming mini-games, and there's even a virtual cat you can pet and customize! I think it's great for calming down and relaxing. This is not sponsored, I just love the game.

Thank you!

Take good care of yourself today :)
