I really love reading manga, it's something that started with me being bored at home, and now I read shoujo so now and then. I enjoy a lot reading the romantic mangas because they are often very funny and cute. I find the girls many times to be relatable and I ship the couples so hard. I like seeing how the characters develop with time and how their relationship grows closer and deeper as time passes by. I decided to make a list of my favorite shoujo/romance manga I've read and loved the most for you guys. I hope you enjoy this list and tell me if you've read any of these!

Naruse is this guy who's really good at playing sports, specifically basketball. He ends up getting interested in Machida, a girl who's very mature and responsible for her age, the opposite of Naruse. He ends up getting rejected by her but doesn't give up on building a "more than friends" relationship with her. I love this manga because time is the best answer here. Things evolve realistically, which is something that doesn't happen in many mangas. Also, Naruse is not the cold type of guy, he's very open and the girl is more independent than other manga characters we've seen before.
  • Hibi Chouchou

You'll fall in love with Suiren. She's this shy high school girl who's so pretty that she was bullied in middle school by the guys that "supposedly liked her" so she ends up becoming this quiet girl who barely speaks a word. Kouha is this shy guy who at first seems to not be attracted by Suiren, the cutest girl in his high school. However, Suiren finds herself thinking about him quite a lot, so she starts to overcome her shyness in order to get closer to Kouha. This is the cutest manga I've ever read, it'll make you blush, laugh and ship this cute couple. Their relationship develops slowly, but on a pace that you can be comfortable with.
  • Wolf Girl & Black Prince

If you watch anime, you've probably heard of Wolf Girl & Black Prince, the anime is one of my favorites, but today we'll be talking about the manga. If you already have seen the anime, but not read the manga, I extremely recommend you to read it because you won't regret it! Erika is a girl that is surrounded by friends that are dating because she is single, she feels the need to find a boyfriend. One day she's walking on the street and she sees this incredibly handsome guy, then she has the idea of telling her friends that's he's her boyfriend! The guy that she takes a picture of turns out to be Sata Kyouya, one of her peers in her high school. When he finds out that she lied, he agrees to not tell anyone, however, she has to now do everything for him in return. This is one of my favorite stories just because they hate each other at the start. If you like hate-love relationships, you'll love this one! The story is so entertaining and funny, it has so many great moments that you'll want to reread!
  • Ao Haru Ride - Spring Blue Ride

I definitely think Ao Haru Ride is the most popular shoujo manga out there. The story is incredibly beautiful and breath-taking. You'll desire it to be longer because it felt so short when I read it. It's that good! I honestly felt in love with Tanaka-kun. He met Futaba in middle school, however, he moved out without a notice and they ended up growing apart. Now that Tanaka-Kun is back to Futaba's high school, he has a different name and pretends to be cold and uncaring towards her. Ao Haru Ride was the first shoujo manga that I read it, and let me say something, it's still one of the most. Their chemistry is out of this world, the way they care for each other is couple goals tbh.
  • Hana-kun to Koisuru Watashi
anime, manga, and romance image manga, love, and anime image manga, anime, and shoujo image love, anime, and manga image
This is a more recent manga that I started reading a few weeks ago, and I'm already in love with it!! It's not complete yet, but you should definitely give it a try! Nanase is the class president and a very smart girl who's the model student of her high school. While Hana-kun is the student that's always skipping class and never shows up to school. Even though Hana-Kun is the complete opposite of Nanase, she somehow gets curious about him and his mysterious box that she found in the school. This is a very unique manga because the guy, Hana-Kun, likes someone else right off the bat. So things get very interesting and how their love develops is so worth reading!
