Hello fellow Hearters,
The past couple months, as "winter" (more like fall) approaches in California, I've been on a thrifting frenzy as the thrift stores start to display their coats & other fall appropriate items. As a long time thrifter, I've gathered years of experience in thrifting & curating the perfect items. It can be quite difficult sorting through junk to find a couple gems but nonetheless, these tips will help you find the right pieces for you!

It's sooooooo easy to get overwhelmed when looking through a thrift store. (Much like a messy forever 21 lol) Combat this by determining what you're thrifitng for so you can narrow down your search as soon as you enter those doors. For example, on my last thrifting adventure, I was looking specifically for work-appropriate clothes. So I narrowed down my search area to coats, pants, and button up shirts. These areas are still broad enough to sift through but narrow enough that I don't have to sort through the men's section, shoes, skirts, etc.

When I thrift, I find it easier to sift through clothes when you are already aware of what colors you'll actually wear. For me personally, I know that I like neutral colors & black so when I'm thrifting, I like to take a casual look at other colors like bright blues and purples while really focusing my time to sift through the colors I know I'll wear. If your thrift stores are color coded like Goodwill than this is pretty easy to do.

3.★ 𝕃𝕠𝕠𝕜 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕌𝕟𝕚𝕢𝕦𝕖 𝔽𝕚𝕟𝕕𝕤 ★

I like to shy away from buying basics at the thrift store since it's not really worth the price when a new basic is about the same price! I like to find one of a kind pieces that are really unique. It makes the experience fun and you know you'll have something no one else does! My favorite finds are printed pants and dresses.

4. ★ ℕ𝕒𝕞𝕖 𝔹𝕣𝕒𝕟𝕕𝕤 ★

When shopping at a thrift, it doesn't really matter if what you're buying is a 'name brand' or not but if you're looking to get lucky with some big names, I'd look at larger thrift stores like Goodwill or Savers. I've had some amazing luck at these places. I've found some Calvin Klein, Chico's, and even lucked out with a vintage Valentino piece. Don't shy away from brands you never heard of though! There are some really beautiful pieces out there!

5. ★ 𝕋𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝕒 𝕃𝕒𝕤𝕥 𝕄𝕚𝕟𝕦𝕥𝕖 𝕃𝕠𝕠𝕜 ★

After I'm done searching through the store for my primary objectives I like to take a last minute stroll through the aisles I didn't really check out. Take some time to go check out the shoes, accessories, and belts and scarves. This is a good chance to pick up some fun items! I really love looking through the scarfs to pick up a cute necktie before I check out.

I hope you guys enjoyed this article! I really love thrifting and I hope this encourages you to go out and look for some fun pieces!

Happy Thrifting
