Oh, hey!

Welcome to my brand new series on We Heart It, named Soul Sparks. I've been looking for inspiration and a way for me to spend more time creating and writing again, so I'm very grateful that this idea came to me at just the right time.

I believe we can all use a little reminder every now and then of everything that makes life beautiful and meaningful. There's nothing that excites me more than the opportunity to inspire you to live a life that truly makes your soul happy!

Which is exactly what I'm hoping to do with this series. I'm here to plant a seed, through creating content that comes from a place of love and support.

Goals & Dreams

Okay, this may seem like an obvious one. However, I feel like now is the perfect time to start reflecting back on the year you've had, whilst taking a little sneak peek into the future and thinking about all of your hopes and dreams for the upcoming year.

I know it may seem early, but I also know that time flies and the days pass us by so much quicker than we sometimes even realize. Plus, don't you just love brainstorming about projects, new hobbies, or travel plans you want to make happen in the near future?

Happiest Moments

In this day and age, we all get overwhelmed with life more often than we'd like to. Just because that's the new normal, doesn't mean there's nothing we can do about it.

One very effective way to take a breather and lighten up your mood is to stop whatever you're doing and take some time to reminisce on the happiest, most memorable moments of your life so far. Focus on those precious memories for a while and appreciate that you know what pure joy feels like.

Ways To Have Fun

If it isn't already, having fun should be one of your top priorities in life. What else are we living for? List everything that is fun to you, from building a blanket fort with your nephew to dancing in the rain, or making a new friend. In doing so, you will open the door to creating more wonderful memories.

Use the list you just made of your happiest moments to help you figure out what having fun really means to you!

This one, I cannot recommend enough. I've been making lists of my favorite quotes for years now, and they never seize to inspire or motivate me whenever I’m feeling a bit stuck or lost.

There are just so many amazing people out there who share insights that can change the way we see the world we live in. Listing the ones that mean something to you, is a great way to create your very own archive you can dive into whenever you feel the need for some inspiration. Obviously, We Heart It is the ultimate platform to find and collect quotes!

I mean, how easy is it to lose sight of what others do to make us happy. To overlook the way someone is reaching out offering us some kind of help, relief, support...

Let's not take these things for granted. Make a list. Your parents probably deserve to be on there. Your closest friend. Don't forget to include that woman who smiled at you as she walked past you in the subway! It's the little things, you guys. For real.

Things That Always Cheer You Up

In line with the people who make you feel good, take a moment to think of what always cheers you up. For me, this could be looking at old pictures, doing a bit of shopping, spending time in nature, watching my favorite movie(s)... Stuff like that.

This is just a handy back-up for when you're in a bad mood, bored out of your mind or you just don't feel particularly inspired by anything.

Things You Want To Make

What does your heart want to share with the world? Think about that, and write down everything that pops up in your mind.

Creating something helps you cultivate and develop your individuality. Your sense of self. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there. It is definitely so much worse to stay under the radar, knowing you're not living up to your full potential because you're afraid of failure or criticism.

Ways You Can Spice Up Your Home

There's a reason we care so much about our environment. The places we spend most of our time, impact our entire well-being and behavior. So, it shouldn't come as a surprise that most of us like to spice up our home every once in a while.

Personally, I love using the changing of the seasons as my biggest source of inspiration when I'm looking to refresh my space. Some people go all out for events like Halloween, Christmas and others are happy keeping things simple. No right or wrong here, just do you. List all the ways you would like to spice up your home and go for it!

Ways To Declutter Your Life

As much as we love to own and buy things, I'm much more of a minimalist and I truly believe it would help make the world a better place if there would be more people like me. Happiness can't be found or achieved through consumerism (but you might already know that, so let's move on).

Make a list of things and/or spaces you would like to have sorted out by the end of the year. Again, time flies and it feels so good to start the new year with your wardrobe all neat and tidy, your kitchen appliances organized and your home ridded of any unnecessary clutter.

This is honestly a game changer. May sound a bit floaty to you, but I am telling you to give it a try and watch yourself uplifting your energy in ways you can't imagine. What makes you feel free?

For example, meditation and yoga are huge for me when it comes to this list. Singing and exercising, too. Proving to myself that I can achieve anything I set my mind to, as long as I do it with the right intentions and I'm patient enough to be in it for the long run.

Things You Love About Yourself

I mean, need I say more? Sure, there are plenty of things I can think of that I want to work on or get better at, but will it help me to beat myself up for being who I am? For being a little shy or insecure? Absolutely not, that would be completely useless.

For example, I really love my eyes. I just think they're the coolest. I love how I always try to help others, even when they don't ask for it. Also, I love to sing, because it's a great way for me to express my thoughts (I'm not saying I'm any good at it).

Give this list a go and be reasonable. Be authentic. Appreciate yourself for all that you are. Now, and always. This list will help you do just that!

Things That Make You Feel Powerful

What makes you feel strong? Like you're in control of your own happiness? Obviously, none of us feel powerful all the time, but we all face challenges in life.

Think about your own experience. When did you feel proud of yourself? What times have you faced your fears? When have you confronted a problem, a person, a situation, or even yourself, in order to work out a solution? Remember, you're so much stronger than you think.

This is a great one, though we mustn't feel urged to copy or envy others. Never compare. We all have our own thing. That's the beauty of it.

It can be very empowering to list the things that inspire you about the people you love and/or admire. Having some sort of a role model can help you feel motivated, encouraged and hopeful. It can also help you find out what's really important to you, what you truly value and appreciate in other people.

Things You Would Change In Your Life Right Now If You Could

Pay attention to what thoughts come up right after reading that sentence. What would you change right now? Why? Don't go all hardcore about all the things you would like to achieve that you haven't yet, that is not what this list is all about.

It's about checking in with yourself and the way you're living your life. Are you living in alignment with your values? If not, what can you change right now to get to make that happen?

Should you share more of your true self, try to be more honest? Find a new job that suits your personality better? Just write, and don't get discouraged if you feel a lot of things coming up to the surface. Raising your awareness is the first step to taking action and creating actual change, but it's never easy!

We've all been there, haven't we? Regardless of how old we are, or where we live, we've all seen things that made us go completely silent.

Everything You Love To Do Outdoors

By now, I feel like we all know how spending time in nature benefits our health and overall well-being in many ways. Honestly, I don't spend enough time outside myself. I guess this list is a good one for me to look at more often!

It's easy to get stuck on your couch when you don't have someplace to be, and don't get me wrong, I am all here for it. I'm just saying it's more fun to actually go out and enjoy the fresh air! Throw a frisbee, climb a tree, make a flower necklace... Plenty of things to do out in nature. List all of them and you'll never run out of ideas.

Words That Define Your Personality

It's so much fun to really get to know yourself! Stop judging and criticizing yourself for being who you are, and open your eyes to the way you always make other people feel good about themselves. Become aware of that unstoppable optimist in you. The way you're always so true to who you are because you simply don't know how to be insincere.

Think about what defines you as a person. Try to think of key words, like optimistic, creative, reliable, sympathetic... It's a great way to boost your confidence, and know your own worth.

What did you want to be when you were younger? Did you change your mind every day, or did you never really have a clue? I'm definitely that last one. I'm still looking to broaden my horizons and find ways to not feel obliged to stick to one skill set or responsibility. I think at some point, I'd love to create my own job.

Whatever your hopes and desires are for your career path, write down everything you've ever thought of. Are there certain things you've actually pursued in your life, or have you gone in a completely different direction? Are there things you may want to start working on right now (anything to add to your goals list)? Working out this list is a great way to gain insight of what interests you and what you're naturally good at.

Ways You Can Love Yourself More

I know there are things I could be doing more of, to show myself a little bit more affection. Be a bit more understanding. Coming from a place of love, instead of impatience or insecurity. I think it's only human!

What can you do today to love yourself a little more? Is it a face mask, or a warm bath? A spontaneous photoshoot with your best friend? Or are you feeling adventurous, and you need to try something new?

Focus on having fun, enjoying yourself, taking some time to relax or blow off steam. By yourself, or with others. Whatever you need. Write down everything that would fit in this category for you, and keep it close for when it's time for some self-care.
