This article of mine can be found on the We Heart It editors page as I am proudly apart of the Writers Team but I thought I’d still post it here too

As a teenager who is still discovering the world and her self, you may relate to me in the fact that not caring what other people think about you can be a difficult hurdle to overcome. No matter how hard you try to just be you the nagging thoughts inside your head still worry about what everyone else is thinking when you walk into the room.

Instead of me going on about all the ways to be more carefree I have a book recommendation for you. Now I don’t typically choose to read books in my spare time due to having a very short attention span but I got, “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k” by Mark Manson after hearing good things about the book and thought I may as well give it a shot (it was awarded New York Times bestseller after all). As you can probably tell by the context of this article – I really enjoyed the book and I hate to be all cliché and all but it has honestly influenced me to be more carefree and to not care as much about what people think of me.

If you’re not into crude humour and swearing, this may not be the book for you. However, that’s why I’m creating this article to share my favourite quotes that I found helpful and inspiring so you don’t even have to read the book! – (Although I recommend that you do read it to get the full picture).

Here are some of my favourite quotes

•”The desire for more positive experience is itself a negative experience. The acceptance of one’s negative experience is itself a positive experience”.
•”You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consist of. You will never life if you are looking for the meaning of life”.

•As you get older you realise, “those people whose opinions we cared about so much before are no longer present in our lives. Rejections that were painful in the moment have worked out for the best”.

•”Who you are is defined by what you’re willing to struggle for”
•Maturity is what happens when one learns to only give a f**k about what’s truly f**k worthy”

•”Fault results from choices that have already been made. Responsibility results from the choices you’re currently making”.
•”Worry about things that are more important than your insecurities and baggage”.
• You can’t escape problems in life, your struggles are what strengthens you, therefore, “don’t hope for a life with out problems. Hope for a life full of good problems”.

•”If we’re unwilling to fail, then we’re unwilling to succeed”.

I honestly felt really inspired after reading this book and these quotes I try to carry out in my day to day life. If you would like me to make a part 2 to this and go into more detail on how to be more carefree or if you have any of your own tips and tricks then feel free to send me a message.

Also feel free to head on over to the We Heart It editors page where you can not only find my articles monthly but articles from various other talented people who are also on the Writers Team xx
