What I've learned through the years is that you have to give respect to get respect. Both with how you treat others but also by how you show others how you're treating yourself.

Do not interrupt, let others finish.
Smile to the world and the world smiles to you
Be helpful and also be open for help
Compliment others and believe compliments given you
Do not hesitate
Don't make promises you can not hold. You can't respect a person you can't trust.
Be open to criticism - we learn and move on.
Respect yourself - Do what feels right for you and it will be shown to your surroundings.
Admit the truth, be capable of admitting you were wrong.

I want my readers to finish with some thoughts for yourself. Think of 3 positive things you do for either yourself or others. Also 3 things you should work on. Here is mine:

Hard working - Doing what I have to do to reach my goals and if I want something I work until its here.
Open minded - I both love to share and listen to new knowledge and by general others opinions.
Loving - I always want the best for those around me, and now it's time for me to do the best for me too. Working for your own comfort and feelings isn't being ego, it is self-respect.

Too sensitive - I get easily sad for the smallest things at the same time I get happy for the smallest things. This is still a hard one I keep working to be better at. Start with stop pointing the finger at yourself. Don't blame yourself and think it's your fault. Start finding something positive instead.
Impatient - I've learned to find something positive while waiting. You can use the meantime to do something else great you want to do.
Repeating myself - I'm often afraid to be misunderstood or not being heard, which makes me repeating myself much. Start being more secure about yourself.
