“... They’re attracted to the light” echoed in my head for days. Every time I heard her calm voice in my head, I would get chills all over my body.

This nightmare didn’t just scare me, it angered me. It stripped me of my only sense of comfort in my bedroom. I couldn’t tell if she was being truthful or if her intention had been to scare me like that, so I opted for leaving the light off just in case.

In the months to follow I felt as though the activity was dying down again. The only spooky things were the cold temperature of the closet, and of course the open door with the light on.

Obviously I was scared, but in hindsight, I had no clue what fear was until’ a few weeks later.

It was a typical summer night. I had stayed up late to binge watch Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix. At around 1:00 AM I started to feel sleepy so I went upstairs to bed. To my absolute shock, I walked into a normal bedroom. The closet door was shut tightly, and the light wasn’t even on! This made me feel somewhat relaxed and a little satisfied, I felt as though perhaps leaving the light off had made the spirits die down a little.

I put my pajamas on and went to lay in my bed. Up until’ this moment I felt exhausted, so you can imagine my frustration when I got into bed and felt much like Katy Perry: Wide Awake.

After awhile I decided to open Netflix on my phone. If I was going to be awake, I might as well watch some Grey’s Anatomy.

That’s when I started to hear a deep, guttural growl coming from the closet. It was even louder than my phone.

My heart sank into my stomach and I felt nauseous. I immediately started to rationalize what had happened. I tried to convince myself that my rabbit, Trent, could somehow make that noise.

Tears formed in my eyes as the sound persisted. I could feel my face turning red with panic and I started to pray. I wouldn’t say I’m a super religious person, I don’t go to church often, but I do believe in God and whenever I’m scared I turn to him.

I could feel my arm start to burn as I repeated the prayers over and over out loud.

The growling diminished, and I felt safe again.

I got up to go to the bathroom and splash some cold water on my face and try to calm down. When I rolled up my sleeves, I immediately felt sick again, I almost passed out at the sight of my arm.

Three parallel scratches were staring back at me.

Hey guys, I know this one is pretty dark. That's why I tried to add a joke in there to lighten up the mood a little. This was honestly one of the scariest moments of my life since I had never been attacked my a spirit before. This isn't even the craziest thing that happened in that room though. Stay tuned for part 4 and the finale, part 5.

I also want to apologize for not posting on Wednesday, things just got a little hectic again. I'll be posting this Sunday to make up for it.
