Day 21: What three lessons do you want your children to learn from you?

Firstly, I would like to say I do not wish to have children. Why? I believe I am much too selfish to ever care for another living being to the extent that that being could die without me. I realize being selfish is not a good trait, but I know that I possess this trait and am not afraid to admit it.

I will be presenting three lessons I would like to pass down to someone later in life.

#1- Accept opportunities, take risks.
Every person has countless opportunities throughout his or her life. I believe it is best to take a risk to open new paths for ones self. Do not be afraid to try something new. Know that it is okay to fail.

#2- Do not expect people to change for you, would you change yourself for them?
Accept everyone you meet as they are. Of course, there is room for improvement in every individual, but if they do not want change in themselves they can not and will not change. In the same sense, do not change yourself for the opinions of others. You should be true to yourself. If they do not want you for you, someone will.

#3- Help where you can.
Growing up going to Catholic school my whole life, I have learned the importance of giving back and helping others. The feeling you get after helping someone is like no other. It is truly a feeling I can not explain.
