Keep a notebook. Travel with it, eat with it, sleep with it. Slap into it every stray thought that flutters up into your brain. Cheap paper is less perishable than gray matter, and lead pencil markings endure longer than memory.

Hey lovelies!

I know I haven't been active constantly or written an article in a while but I've been dealing with issues that have just made me feel so depressed and unable to find the motivation. We Heart It also played a part in making me upset but I had decided to be inactive to get my mind together.

I'm going to be writing about journaling, everything you need to know because I've been journaling for years and quite a lot while I had been off We Heart It.

I hope you enjoy reading this and find it helpful!

❊ | what is journaling

Journaling is a way to get all your thoughts onto paper and let your trouble free and just write down anything you want. It is a place where you can see all the good and bad memories while reflecting on the past to achieve a better future.

❊ | why do people journal

People journal to leave behind any troubles and enter an alternate universe where they can relax and have some quality time by themselves.

❊ | what notebook to use

You can use any notebook you like, it all depends on your preference and you could pick from: dotted, lined, grid or plain notebooks as long as you are comfortable with it I personally, I use dotted or grid notebooks but that is just what I like.

❊ | what to journal about

You can journal about anything you want and that's the beauty of journaling it allows you to write about whatever you want and how you like to write. You could write diary entries, daily/monthly goals and habit trackers to a lot more.

❊ | how to make it pretty

your journal doesn't have to pretty but when you try and make it pretty, you take your time and that is a relaxing process. By all means, I'm not telling you to make it a masterpiece, just make it something you like. To add to your spreads, you could: add images (off the internet or your own photos), use colour, colour-code it, add fancy fonts and use washi tape or stickers.
