I heard a knock on my bedroom door. Ugh. "Open!," I called out. The door opened and I sat up on my bed. Raine walked in and was standing there. "Hi..." she said. Was I hallucinating? "Raine?" I questioned, confused at this situation right now. "It's me..." she responded. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "Felt like something was wrong....what'd I miss?...how are you?...still the same, I see..spending most of your time in your room..surrounded by books," she said. I stared at her. I wasn't sure how to respond. Or what to think. "Why'd you leave without saying goodbye?" I blurted out. "I told Magdalena I knew everyone would try to stop me...I just wanted to get out of here..Theodore really hurt me and losing my parents...it all made me want to escape and go where I felt most comfortable..." she explained. I can't hate her. "It sucked. How are you? What have you been up to?" I asked. This was a bit awkward and I didn't want it to be. "Not much...mermaid stuff...I'm dating god of the sea...his name is Wesley," she told me. "Wow...congrats," I said. "So...what have I missed?" she asked, playing with her hands. "Vanessa and River were killed...Aaron was killed...Jasper has a girlfriend..I have a boyfriend..Matilda's dating some fuckboy...Leighton's gay...there's a lot," I said. "Omg...omg...I knew it was bad...," she said. She sat against my wall and started crying. Now I felt bad for her. I sat next to her. "I'm such an idiot. I missed so much," she said, sniffling. "You lost your family...you did what you had to do to keep yourself sane..it's ok," I said, hoping to comfort her. "You came back. That's what matters," I added. She leaned her head against my shoulder and continued to cry. I hugged her. "Your hair is blonde...we need to fix that," I said. She laughed. I smirked. "I missed you so much," I confessed. "I missed you too..all of you," she said.
