Hello, beautiful Hearters! Happy Friday! I hope you're having an amazing day. It's Kaylee here with a new series.

I know, I know. I said I would start series then I never follow through with them. I'm hypocritical in writing about getting your life together when I need the help, but I have the whole series planned out (for once in my life), so I'm starting somewhere, right?

Anyway, every Friday, I will be posting an article for this series Getting Your Life Together. I will be talking about organization, knowledge, budgeting, and so much more. I hope you enjoy this series (and I hope I post next Friday, too lol). Without further ado, let's get into it, shall we?

Getting Your Life Together: Organization

Organization is sometimes hard to handle. There are so many factors that play into it and it takes quite a bit of work to maintain. To be completely honest, I'm not organized whatsoever. I try, but it doesn't always work out. But, I have come up with a list of ideas to help you stay organized in your school and home life.

School

  • Notes

Keeping your notes organized is super important. It'll be easier to study when tests and exams come along and you'll feel less stressed. You can organize your notes by color coding, using marks, and so on. You can find more helpful tips in this article.

  • Supplies

Much like keeping your notes organized, keeping your supplies organized is just as important, if not more. By organizing your supplies, you can place notes in correct binders or folders and keep homework organized for the next day or later in the week. Here are some things you can do to keep your school supplies more organized:

Folders
Color code the folders with your binders or notebooks. For example, English is pink, Health is purple, Math is green, and so on. This will help you pick out the right folder and binder if you're in a rush.
Binders
If color coding isn't your thing, that's okay. You can just use the simple method of writing the class on your binder. It is equally as effective and you can add your own personal touch by adding designs. Make sure to add dividers and possibly paper sleeves for the syllabus, study guides, and notes if you wish. Adding sticky notes to the inside will help too. If you forgot your agenda, you can make a quick note on the sticky note.
Textbooks
When using textbooks, sometimes you can't highlight in them unless you own the book itself. One way to make little notes is to add flags to the pages you want to find information from. Be sure to add them to the top of the textbook pages so they don't get crushed or torn when you're carrying the book.

Room

  • Clothing
Dresser
Okay, using a dresser isn't anything new, but I have a new way to fold your clothes, one you may have heard them. When folding your clothes and placing them in the dresser drawer, place the clothing standing up so when you look for that shirt or those pairs of jeans, when you open the drawer, you can see it instead of digging into the drawer. Another way to think of it is like a filing cabinet.
Clothes Rack
This one is my personal favorite. I love the clothes rack I have. It adds an extra level of organization and gives my room more character, too. There isn't really much to this one, but it might be something you never really thought of.
  • Storage
Filing cabinets
Storage boxes
Bookshelves
You can even make your own storage units.

Extra Tips

  • If you have a small room and want to make it look bigger, add a mirror. Depending on where you set it, it will give the illusion that there is more room than there actually is.
  • Plants can add a little more life to your home. I've wanted to add plants to my room for so long (granted, they would probably be fake).
  • If you have extra boxes, you can tear them apart and cut them to make cute garlands or decorations for your room.

That's about all I have for you guys. I hope you enjoyed this article. You can always message me if you have any new article ideas, see something I might have missed, or simply just want to talk.

Like always, I hope you have an amazing rest of your day and weekend. Remember to keep smiling. You never know who will need it.

XO,
Kaylee 💕
