Samuel

I woke up to the chatter of everyone downstairs and around the house. I must've slept even later than usual because everyone's up by 11AM and it sounds like they've been up for hours. I rolled over to cuddle Vanessa, but her side of the bed was empty. It was cold. Disappointed, I rolled over on my back and stretched. I checked my phone to see what time it was. 3PM. 3 in the afternoon?! I've never slept this late in my life. Why didn't anyone wake me? No wonder Ness isn't sleeping next to me. I sat up and yawned. I slept 13 hours and yet I was still tired. I felt groggy. I didn't even drink last night. I don't know why I feel hungover. I shuffled to the bathroom and took a look of myself in the mirror. I looked pale and there were bags under my eyes. Thank god I'm not a model. I rinsed my face with cold water hoping it'd help me wake up then proceeded to brush my teeth. The cold water was not rejuvenating. I heard my phone go off with a text notification so I went to see who it was. The number wasn't a saved contact. It read ^ wanna find your gf? go take a walk in the woods and i'll lead you to her ^ My heart sank. Who is this? Is this a joke? I threw a shirt and jeans on and ran downstairs. "NESSA! NESSA! DID ANYONE SEE NESSA?!" I was panicking. "Whoa, buddy, take it easy," David said, walking over to me. "I can't relax!" I shouted. "I haven't seen Vanessa all morning. We thought she was with you...staying in bed until mid afternoon," Tatum added. I shook my head. "Look at this text," I said. Raven took the phone out of my hands and read it. "Fuck," she said. Matilda walked down the stairs. "What's going on?" she asked. "They got Vanessa...I'll go with you to the woods...Matilda you should come and see if you can use your magic to help us find her faster," Raven explained, putting her shoes on. I didn't know what to do. I felt helpless and hopeless. I just wanted to know she's ok. Matilda was as pale as I was. "SYDNEY!!! I NEED YOU!!!!" she yelled up the stairs. Raven was already out the door. I followed. Sydney and Matilda trailed behind us. We were 2 miles into the woods when I received another text. ^ you're getting closer ^ I showed it to Matilda. Raven was looking around. It seemed like she was ready to pounce on anyone that came to mess with us more. Sydney was leading the way and jumped back, covering her mouth. I ran over. I looked down and there were parts of a skeleton rustled in the earth. I fell to my knees. I couldn't control my emotions. Tears were streaming down my face. I don't know how a body could decompose so quickly, but I had a feeling it was Nessa's skeleton. Matilda fell to her knees at my side. She was crying, too, at this point. "No," was all I managed to say.

My love. My future wife. I wanted to start a family with this girl. She was the one for me. "Please....bring her back...do your magic..please..." I begged. Sydney walked around the other side and began to try spells. Nothing seemed to work. It broke my heart more. My phone went off again and Raven took it from me. I was glad she did. I didn't want to read anymore. I didn't want to do anything but lay here in the ground and hope it was all a nightmare.
