DIY Scrunchies

♛ Probablyancientbeauty

Okay, so like I know there’s this massive trend for scrunchies and I’m not sure if it’s partly because Emma Chamberlain brought them back in.
I’m not throwing shade @ her for how overpriced hers are but I know many people would like customised scrunchies.
In this article I will give my instructions for how to make scrunchies without a sewing machine!

Step 1

With your fabric of desired choice (I personally like florals) cut out a piece of fabric:
4.15 in x 15.20 in
OR
10.5 cm x 38.6 cm
(note: width x length)

Cut your thread to the same length in this case 38.6 cm Or 15.20 inches.

Step 2

Hair Tie
If you have a hair tie you’d want to wrap the fabric around you’d have it folded in half (remember the pattern is facing the inside).

Do a running stitch along the two joining sides, make sure the hair tie isn’t stitched to it.

Elastic
If you are wanting to do this with elastic do a running stitch along the two joining sides (length sides) make sure the pattern is facing the inside.

Step 3

Once you’ve completed your running stitch flip the fabric inside out so your pattern is facing out and you can’t see the stitches!

Elastic
Once you’ve completed your running stitch and flipped it inside out so you have the pattern facing out slide the elastic in.

Step 4

Hair Tie
Stitch the ends close...
VOILÁ YOU’VE GOT A SCRUNCHIE!

Elastic
Stitch the elastic together so it becomes one and then stitch the ends close...
VOILÁ YOU’VE GOT A SCRUNCHIE!

Extra

If you would like to add a little bow to it fold the fabric in half and draw out a rather tall B.

Once drawn cut it out keeping the fabric folded.

Stitch the tall B inside out then flip it out.

Attach it to the scrunchie by tying it on!
