Mental Health is a topic that everyone knows about but only a few people talk about it. It’s something we humans have that is an expression we use everyday. It’s also a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.

The reason why people don’t seem to talk about it that much is because it’s kind of a touchy subject or the only time the media does talk it is when someone commits suicide or during gun control. The other part is I think people are scared of talking about their mental health is because they might think people are going to accuse them of an attention seeker. People also might think Anxiety and Depression is the only mental illness a person goes through. They are the most common but they aren’t the only ones. There’s bipolar disorder, eating disorder, schizophrenia and more. Mental Health is something that people have to live with, there isn’t a cure but you can be treated.

One of things I don’t like is when the media act like mental health doesn’t exist. When a celebrity starts acting out like fame has caused them stress or so much shit is going in their life and it’s bad for their health, physical and mental. People like Conspiracy Theorists or Trolls would say that they are trying to break out of the Illuminati or they are distracting us from what’s going on in the world right now. When in reality, they are actually crying for help and nobody is listening. They probably told someone, but their answer was probably “Your going through a phase”. I also hate when people believe if someone is a trump supporter has mental illness, they probably do but them supporting Trump isn’t the reason why.

Your mental health can affect you entirely, if you don’t get the help you need. If you believe nothing is wrong while other people believe the opposite or it starts getting worse, the impact can lead to suicide. There are people may have experience their mental illness in the worst way like skipping meals or coughing up blood etc. the suicide rates are increasing and the reason why they are is because we aren’t listening or we don’t seem to care. Cyber bullying can cause someone to commit suicide, everybody turning your back against you can cause someone to commit suicide or them not saying anything at all and act like everything is fine and when it’s been reported that they commit suicide everybody is going to be confuse believing they had the perfect life but they weren’t happy with themselves.

So If someone starts acting out or even says they believe something is wrong with them, talk to them, don’t ignore them. Help them out by listening to them and encourage them to seek treatment, when they do and they have pills prescribed for them, remind them to take them, because you might saving someone’s life.
