I'm a 16 year old girl just looking to make herself the best person she can be. This is my journey. My peregrination. Unlike most self-development minded people, I don't know what I'm doing. So you get to watch me, and even join me, as I try to figure life out. Ahhhh scary concept, I know. But you can check in on me here on We Heart It, I POST EVERY DAY SUNDAY-FRIDAY. Thanks for clicking on this article!

So I'm trying something new! No promises that this idea is here to stay, but I thought I'd give a go at an advice column. This WHI account is to document my progress as I better myself, and I think giving others advice will help both them and me. I get to help someone, a huge priority for me, and I also get to step out of my comfort zone and think more deeply about life. If all goes well, this should be a growing experience for both me and those who want advice. Don't worry, this will only be once a week, every Thursday, and the rest of my content will still be normal self-development related stuff. :)

Basically, if you have a problem or situation that needs advice, you can message me here through WHI, and I will respond personally to let you know that I got it and maybe ask questions if need be (you only have to tell me as much as you want). I will then ask for your permission to post your problem and my response in my Thursday advice column. I WILL NOT INCLUDE YOUR WHI USERNAME. YOU WILL BE ANONYMOUS TO EVERYONE EXCEPT ME UNLESS YOU REQUEST TO BE TAGGED. Once I have your permission, I will write up a response and post it the following Thursday! :D

I'm not sure if I'll get enough response to keep things going, and I'm not sure if this idea itself will work or not, but I thought I'd give it a shot. So don't be afraid to message me!

Day 21 of Jumpstart Your Day:

Here's the book I'm following:

When a man has put a limit on what he will do, he has put a limit on what he can do.
~ Charles Schwab

Today, John Maxwell dives into the concept of limiting beliefs. I have a lot of them. We all probably have a lot of them. "I'm not smart enough" or "I couldn't do it because I've never done it before" or "that's just not my personality". These have all often crossed my mind. Another more personal one for me is "I'm not talented enough to ever publish a successful book". These are all beliefs I need to delete and transform to reach my POTENTIAL. (a concept we've talked a lot about over the last 21 days. If you're new here, here's the introduction article to potential...)

Author Jack Canfield defines 4 steps to transform your limiting beliefs in The Success Principles. They are listed here:

  • Identify a limiting belief that you want to change
  • Determine how the belief limits you
  • Decide how you want to be, act, or feel
  • Create a turnaround statement that affirms or gives you permission to be, act, or feel this new way

The writing prompt today is to choose a limiting belief of your's and go through these four steps. I did mine this morning, and I actually used my turnaround statement later today. It helped a lot! I'm definitely gonna keep doing this. :)

Did I do what I said yesterday I would do? Nope. I didn't start my creative writing story at all. I've been gone almost all day and I didn't realize that was gonna happen. So I failed here.
How did I fail today? I didn't ask enough questions and take advantage of a learning experience with a woman who knows a lot about plants, something I could've benefited a lot from.
How did I succeed today? I don't think I wasted almost any time at all today! It was super productive. I even read instead of watching youtube. BONUS POINTS!
Tomorrow I will: Be talkative and genuine with the other people at my pottery class. :O

Thanks for reading! If you have any advice, questions, comments, concerns, suggestions... Or if you just want to tell me about your pet rock. I don't care. I love messages, please go right ahead and let me know what you think!
