Friday, June 15th, it was just another night, but now it is the night that my heart was broken all over again. It may seem pathetic but a beloved building was lost. The mackintosh building of the Glasgow School of Art had its interior gutted by another friend this time spread to other buildings, the precious building might not be able to be saved.
The building means so much to so many people, it is a symbol to the young people of Glasgow, and it could have been my dream, I wanted it to be my dream, but somewhere else offered my a better course.
The Mackintosh building was possibly the first time I connected to any architecture. It made me feel something, and became a part of me. The building is part of the cultural heart of our beautiful city along with Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The art school is my symbol of hope and I don't know where I would be without it. It is my drive, and my centre.
The fire is a great loss to glasgow and to me.
