Now let's get straight to the point.

How to "fail" like a girl boss?

We all fail. Failure is a sign of being alive. Everybody makes mistakes, that's what makes us human. If you’ve never failed at something, then you haven’t pushed yourself out of your comfort zone. We all share the same fears: fears of failure, embarrassment, uncertainty, discomfort or even not being good enough.

You know what they say: what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. From my point of view failure is not only an amazing learning opportunity, but it is also a door to new experience. When you try your best to learn from everything, you never really fail at all. A girl's road to success is never perfect. Nobody ever did anything great without failing first.

Believe me, I can tell from my own experience. I was in a really bad situation, at uni last year. I piled up so much anxiety that I used to beat myself up about a simple mistake for days. I was that type of person who always expected or assumed failure. I used to be really scared of failing at simple things. I usually gave up way before really making an attempt to succeed. But at one point I realized that refusing to chase my goals just because I was too afraid will get me nowhere fast. So I did my best to flip the situation around. Now I'm stronger and I will never go back to my old ways.

It is of prime importance for us to let go of the fear, our dissatisfaction and troubles. We go through life and are affected by our environments and begin to change. Failing is natural but people find it scary. We need to let go of this old thinking pattern. It is in your power to make each moment the best it can be and here are several ways of doing this:

Don’t overthink.
Too much thinking often results in getting stuck, in going in circles. If you’ve ever failed at something or made a mistake in the past, it most likely forced you to think about that moment and everything surrounding it. Try to discard these negative thoughts. Remember every cloud has a silver lining.

"La vita e bella"-
Which is Italian for "life is beautiful" basically sums up everything we need to know. There is absolutely nothing wrong with celebrating small failures. When faced with obstacles always remind yourself, "It will pass". Because struggles don’t remain struggles; they eventually can turn into important life lessons that will make you a stronger person.

Stop comparing yourself to others.
It's important to recognize your own improvement and to not fall into the trap of taking other people's success as an indicator of your worthiness. If you are too focused on keeping up with others you will not succeed. Focusing on your own journey is vital to staying motivated and positive.

Another way to silence the fear of failure is by becoming productive.
When you’re productive, you put yourself in a positive light. Work also helps you get your mind off things. It's good to have something to keep yourself occupied, it can help you grow your mind, maybe make you smile and relax.

Be grateful.
We need to appreciate our mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons. We should learn to be grateful. Mistakes teach us to clarify what we really want and how we want to live. They also allow us to expand our knowledge of self. It’s a reality check.

Stay away from negative people.
If you have anyone in your life who wants to bring you down or drain your energy, stay away from them. Some people just are like that, constantly criticizing and belittling. It’s their nature. People who are constantly critical of you are only trying to hold you back from your own progress.

Cherish the little things in life.
Take risks, and if you fail, don’t be disheartened. Life will test you first and give you the lesson later. Stop beating yourself up. Focus on all of the great things that can happen and give them more power than all of the bad things that happened in the past.

Above all, live.
Get lost in the city, put too much sugar in your coffee once a while, skip some steps when you climb up and down a staircase. Toss the idea of perfectionism into the garbage, where it rightly belongs.

Realize the importance of the situation.
Whenever you don't fully succeed at something, ask yourself whether that will matter a few days or weeks from now. If you come to the conclusion that it will not matter a few weeks from now, you have no excuse for worrying and overthinking. Let go of pointless or meaningless things. They aren’t worth your precious time and attention.

Embrace the pain.
Suffering is a part of the human condition- but it passes. All pain goes away, eventually. Meanwhile, don’t let it hold you back.

Be cautious.
We probably don’t realize this, but the websites we spend time on, the books we read, and the shows we watch can all affect our brain. Be cautious about what you read, watch or listen to. Choose books and websites that will help you to become the biggest #girlboss out there.

Remember: You are human. And in your failures and weaknesses, you are connected to me, and to everyone else in this universe. Stay strong. Never give up.
