Hey guys!

Over these past few years I've learned some things and I want to share some of them with you. I hope that I'll remember to take my own advice in the future as well.

1. Don't depend too much on anyone in this life.
You shouldn't depend on others for your own happiness because people come and go and that's just life. I think the only person you can completely rely on is yourself. You can still trust other people and talk to them about your issues, as you should. You should never think that you couldn't be happy without them, though.

2. You need to keep looking into the future even if the present is a living hell.
You have so much life ahead of you. So much to feel and so much to experience. You need to realize that sometimes it will hurt, sometimes you'll feel numb and sometimes you'll feel like nothing really matters at all. Sometimes, though, you'll feel so grateful to be alive because sometimes, the sun does shine.

3. Get the fuck out of bed.
Whenever you wake up feeling like everything's too much and you're too tired to even exist in that moment, please get out of bed. Trust me, even these kinds of things matter when it comes to your happiness and staying in bed all day will only make you feel worse. Even if getting out of bed is the only thing you manage to do some days, it's still something to be proud of.

4. Don't drink to escape your problems.
This is definitely not a good thing to do because at the end of the day, your problems are still going to be there. The decisions you make when you're drunk are almost never good and they might even make your problems worse. The days after drinking, you may often feel anxious or depressed. This kind of drinking can result in you having a really unhealthy relationship with alcohol. There are other ways to cope with pain. Choose wisely.

5. Stay true to yourself.
As long as you're living your own truth and know who you are and what you want, nothing else matters. It doesn't matter what others think of you for the only thing that matters is what you think of yourself. Stay true to your own values, your feelings and your desires. Nothing is worse than lying to yourself so you need to be honest with yourself, at all times.

6. You have to let some things and people go.
Sometimes the people you love the most can be toxic to your soul and your well-being and sometimes the things you love doing are not good for your health. This is something you need to realize in order to let go of the things you're holding onto so tightly. Sometimes you miss the memories or the feelings and not the actual person. Before you go back to your old habits or someone you stopped talking to, you should reminisce about the negative things as well. What is the thing that made you stop? Why did you cut them off in the first place?

7. Talk to someone.
I know it may seem like no one cares about you or what you feel, but please open up. I promise you, once you start talking to people about your problems, you won't feel so alone anymore and you'll eventually start to heal. You should never belittle your problems. There are people that care about you and if they only knew how much pain you're in, they would immediately try to help you. You need to let people in, let them know how you feel. You may think that your brokenness is incredibly obvious but the thing is, your loved ones are not psychics. They might have no clue about your thoughts and your feelings and that's exactly why you need to bring your walls down and let them know, no matter how hard it may be.

8. There are healthy ways of dealing with pain.
Once you've developed an addiction out of self-harming or some other harmful act, it's never easy to quit. This is something I know almost too well. I like to believe it's possible to find other ways to cope with pain, though. It can be anything that makes you feel good. For some people, working out does the trick. Drawing, painting or writing your emotions on paper is a good option as well. Listening to music, singing and dancing work for some. You need to get creative when it comes to things like these. What is it that makes you feel good?

9. Everything matters but at the same time, nothing does.
Every little thing that happens, affects your life. Everything you say, everything you do. Everything matters. At the same time, nothing matters. We're all gonna die someday. Acknowledging this is not necessarily a bad thing. If we're all gonna die someday, why is it that we're not doing everything we want to do? What's stopping us from living our best life? Don't let fear get in the way of your dreams. Just know that everything matters yet at the same time, nothing does.

10. Your mental health comes first.
If you feel like you need to take some time for yourself, do it. Sometimes it's okay to just focus on yourself for a while. You don't owe anyone any explanations. If you need time to figure yourself out and work through your emotions, sometimes the best thing you can do is to let yourself breathe. Just do what you think is best for your mental health.
