I study Ancient Greek at school and I love it (even if it can be very difficult!), so I want to show you some of the most beautiful and interesting words.
ἐλευθερία (eleutheria)
It means "freedom". The verb ἐλεύσομαι (eleusomai) is the future of "to go". These 2 words are both formed from ἐλεύθ- . Cool, isn't it? According to them to be free meant to go. Maybe we should always go , to that person or to that place, to feel free...

εὐδαιμονία (eudaimonia)
It's the Greek for happiness. It is formed by εὐ= good and δαιμονων= demon (not something negative, but a sort of guide). So, we can find happiness thanks to an interior and benevolent demon that guides us.

διαφερω (diáfero)
It's a verb and it means being different and being superior at the same time. A coincidence? Oh, Greeks.

ψιθύρισμα (psuthúpisma)
The sound of the wind through trees. Sounds so romantic.

φάρμακον (fármakon)
It can mean antidote or poison. (A problem when it comes to translate ahaha)
Συνοράω (sunorao)
To hug with the eyes.
THANK YOU for reading. Do you study Greek too? Did you like these words? You can ready my other articles:
