• First kiss

An important milestone in any young person's life. I remember this moment quite clearly despite being a long, long time ago. This was way back when I was in the 10th grade, I had to be 15 years old. Me and my boyfriend Brandon have been going out for 2 or 3 weeks already, I remember suggesting to him that we should kiss real soon (romantic, right?). One day during our 15 minute class break, we went over to a staircase on the other side of the school. I was so nervous about kissing him that I kept stammering about dumb stuff in order to stall the moment. But while I was distracted, Brandon went ahead and planted one right on me. The kiss was warm and gentle and only lasted a couple of seconds. When we pulled away, my face was hot with embarrassment, but I was otherwise extremely happy.

First date

Strangely enough, me and Brandon had our first date a year after we began dating. It was on a Sunday afternoon and we walked over to the Starbucks by my house. The place was near empty, only having two other people fixated on their laptops. We choose a small table in the corner by the barista counter. He bought me a grande Caramel Frappuccino (with extra caramel syrup) and a warm chocolate cookie; he didn't get himself anything. I remember staying there for 2 hours, just talking about anything that came to mind. My favorite part of the date: as I was talking about something to him, he gives me a surprise kiss. A reminiscent of our first one.

First pet

My very first pet was a German shepherd named Sparky. I was about 9 when Dad brought Sparky for the family. To be completely honest, I don't have any fond memories with him. Back then, I was terribly afraid of dogs and, because of that, I always avoided him. But looking back, Sparky wasn't even an intimidating dog and I regret the fact that I never bonded with him. About a year after we gotten him, Sparky ran away and I never seen him again. I still think about him, hoping that after he ran away he found a more loving family that he deserved.

First time performing in front of people

It's not really my favorite memory, but it did give way to future occasions where I had to perform for an audience. It was back during the summer after sixth grade and I was attending a week long summer camp. I signed up for drama and the class had to recite a rap for the camp concert. We each had our own part and practiced everyday until the concert. Once we were up, I was incredibly nervous and so worried that I might forget my part. Fortunately, I did my part without stumbling over the words and the whole act was greatly received. I know it would've been more interesting if something bad happened but I'm glad I was saved the embarrassment.

First CD

When I was in the 4th grade, my mom gave me her CD player, and since I didn't have my own CDs at the time, I would borrow CDs from every person in my family. But a year later, on my 11th birthday, my big sister bought me my very first CD! It was Vanessa Hudgens debut album and during that time, Vanessa was a huge deal. I'd listen to that album every single day, to the point where I memorized the lyrics to all the songs.

First manga

I was probably in the 6th grade when this came around. I saved up my allowance and asked my dad to take me to the bookstore. There was so many manga to choose from, but I chose a Naruto one because that was my obsession at the time. I still have it to this day :)

First trip with friends

I can't believe this hadn't happened earlier in my life, but last year, two days before Thanksgiving, me, Brandon and some friends drove all the way to San Diego to visit another friend. Once we arrived at his house, his girlfriend and I decided to go out for drinks while the rest of the guys stayed home to watch Stranger Things. The trip only lasted a day, and ever since we left I've been trying my best to arrange another trip back.

First favorite teacher

My first favorite teacher was my 4th grade teacher, Miss Tankersley (i think that's how you spell it). She was a really young teacher (had to be in her early 20s) and it was her first year teaching. I remember her being really nice and pretty, but she yell at the class constantly because my classmates were a bunch of assholes. I'm not sure if she's still teaching but I wouldn't blame her if she didn't.
