Hello loves! 💞

My Experience:
For the last few weeks, I've been on an important detox involving more than just food. This detox/"diet" consists of makeup and skincare, exercise, and eating habits.

I want to share with everyone this simply explained self-care journey that I've been on!

Makeup and Skincare
I've heard so many things about makeup detoxes:
"It worked wonders for my skin!
"It made me feel self conscious..."
Here's my view.

It's hard, even for me, to believe that I've gone weeks without makeup. I've gone out in public, ordered coffee, flirted, and even felt confident without makeup. Never in a million years would I have thought I'd feel that way. Of course, I've had cheat days in which I've put on some concealer and mascara, but nevertheless, it was (and still is) a makeup detox.
I used to look in the mirror and see blotchy, pigmented skin and under-eye circles the color of the deepest pit of the ocean. Now I see healthy flushed cheeks and under-eyes that just need a little help. I used to see dry spots of dead skin; now I see a shine on the high points of my face.

Here are the skincare products I've used for these few weeks:
➳ Bioré Charcoal Scrub:
Fights acne, reduces oil, treats scars.
➳ Sheet Masks:
Tightens skin, moisturizes, all kinds have different impacts.
➳ Witch Hazel Toner:
Fights acne, sunburn relief, fights dark spots.
➳ L'oréal Hydra Genius:
Hydrates skin, water-like feel, glowy.
➳ *Rosehip Seed Oil:
Reduces redness, hydrates, smooths.
➳ **Rosewater Spray:
Reduces redness, hydrates, softens.
➳ Weleda Skin Food:
Does everything good for dry skin!
➳ Vaseline
Natural hair-growing remedy (lashes, brows), lip plumper and moisturizer.

*Note: I don't recommend using any oils if you are highly prone to acne.
**Note: Do NOT use Mario Badescu Facial Spray, the main ingredient isn't even rose water. Try Heritage Store Rosewater Spray!

These products have been working wonders for my skin and have made me feel so much more confident than I've ever felt! I deeply, truly, undoubtedly recommend a makeup detox! It's reduced my redness and irritation, dark under-eyes, and acne (although, I can't lie, I've never had much of a problem with acne).

Ew, I know, right? Exercise has always been a problem for me. I love exercising, but not in certain circumstances. I know I've needed some attention on my belly and my legs.

I'm a skinny girl, so I've never been told to worry about my weight or that I have to exercise, but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't. I go for daily walks with my dog and do an "hourglass" routine every Tuesday and Thursday.

Hourglass Routine:
➳ Plank - 30 sec.
➳ 20 Plank Twists
➳ Bicycle Crunches - 30 times
➳ Side Crunches - 20 each side
➳ Mountain Climbers - 25 times
➳ Hip Raises - 30 times
➳ Standing Leg Raises - 20 each leg
➳ Lying Leg Raises - 20 each leg

I also participate in activities such as roller skating, hiking, running, swimming, etc. For more exercise, but I have fun while I'm at it! What also adds to this fit schedule is my recent moving house. I've been packing and will be taking everything to my new home tomorrow!

"Please... Please don't t-take my chocolate away from me!" Don't worry, I wouldn't dream of it.

I've recently cut out the fast food and junk from my life, meaning no more McDonalds when my brother and father get it, no more picking up doughnuts at the store, and no more eating chocolate all day, every day.
I'm not a fan of some foods like meats or certain veggies, but I've worked out a list of foods that I do like and that are great in nutritious value.

I make platters out of:
➳ (Certain) cold cuts
➳ Cheese (not too much)
➳ Veggies: olives, carrots, cauliflower, grape tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper, avocado, celery, kale, etc.
➳ Fruits: strawberries, banana, blueberries, raspberries, mango, apple, pear, peach, kiwi, grapes, clementines, melons, etc.
➳ Crackers
➳ Dip
➳ Dark chocolate (healthier)

This diet has worked well for me. I'm not saying it'll work for everyone, but these platters are my life now!

And that is the end of my guide to self-care! Other habits I recommend are:
➳ Get out of the house every day, whether it is with friends, for a walk, or just sitting on the porch.
➳ Disconnecting for a bit to write, read, etc.
➳ Writing down and remembering things you love about yourself, physically and mentally.
➳ Relaxing baths.
➳ Complimenting people: it makes you feel good, trust me!
