Hey friends! I am on a natural hair journey and wanted to share my wash day routine. I love my curly hair and have loved the journey of figuring out what works for me and what doesn't. If you're natural or have curly hair, then you know it's a process and it's important to find the right routine and products for you. I shampoo my hair maybe once a month but I will co-wash every week (not including when I shampoo). Anyway, here is a rundown of what I do on my shampoo day:

Step 1 | I start off by thoroughly wetting my dry hair with lukewarm water to prepare hair for shampooing

Step 2 | Once I've done that, I use my Bella Curls Coconut Milk Nourishing Shampoo to wash my hair
(tip: mainly focus on shampooing your scalp and roots—that's where hair products and oils tend to build-up—then let the shampoo rinse down your curly strands when you rinse out the shampoo)

Step 3 | After massaging the product in, I rinse out the shampoo while carefully running my fingers through my hair making sure not to get it tangled

Step 4 | When all of the shampoo is gone, I grab my Bella Curls Coconut Whipped Crème Leave-In Conditioner and lather my curly strands, focusing on the ends (the driest part of your hair) then make my way up to the roots

Step 5 | Once I have put in a good amount of conditioner, I like to finger detangle once again starting at the ends and making my way up to the roots

Step 6 | Then I will use a wide tooth comb just be sure I didn't miss any tangles or knots
(tip: be as gentle and patient as possible, you don't want to rip out your hair and cause any breakage or damage)

Step 7 | This is may not be anyone's favorite part but I always turn off the hot water and rinse out the conditioner with cold water
(fun fact: cold water closes the hair follicles, which will reduce frizz and lock in moisture)

Step 8 | Lastly, I grab an old cotton shirt and use this to dry my freshly washed hair
(fun fact: towels can absorb too much moisture causing your hair to look frizzy and dry which we cannot have)

After following these steps, you can style and add the products you like to use after a wash day. I'll be more than happy to share what products I use for styling and moisturizing purposes if you guys want. Thank you, friends, for reading. If you wouldn't mind showing some curly hair love with a heart or those lovely reactions, it would be appreciated! Have a great day or night💛
