My new rule for dealing with a hectic week is : "Less decisions, more hustle". The point is to spend less time deciding and doing things that don't matter ( usually to procrastinate), so I can have more time for things that actually add value.

I'm heading into a demanding week so I thought I'd share with you how I plan to outsmart this chaos.

Decide on what you have time for

It's highly likely that yo won't have time to do all the activities you normally do on a regular week. And it's okay if life has to be a little bit unbalanced so you can focus on what's most important. Put your prioritizing skills to the test.

This also involves deciding on who you have time for, if you get what I mean!

What keeps you functioning?

What keeps you going? You might need to remind yourself of the bigger picture and why you are doing this. In one of my previous articles, Small Daily Investments, I spoke about the importance of guarding your mind space and communicating to yourself only what builds you.

Your mind is where the wins take place before they become a tangible reality.

Get down to the nitty-gritty

Be as specific as possible about what you need to do. As long as you don't know, and don't  have a plan, a task remains intimidating and impossible.

So now that you've got that down ( preferably on paper), you can get going. Challenge yourself and really put some effort into maintaining consistency throughout the week. Never mind how you've been doing things the past couple of weeks. The now is the only thing you can control so give it your best!

Eliminate necessary time-wasters

This includes time spent on either getting or making meals, choosing what to wear, that procrastination nap you like to take during the day, tidying up your room when you really don't need to...

Simple time saving tips:

  • Meal prepping or, just have an idea of what you want to eat throughout the week. If you want to be fancy about it, you could also write this down.
  • Choosing outfits in advance.
  • Study from a place where your tidying up obsession will not be triggered lol.

Create a relaxing morning and evening routine.

So  after you've had a record- breaking, super productive day, you will  need to slow things down a bit.  I feel like I say this all the time; if you don't give yourself time to chill, you will burn out by the time you reach midweek. And that is exactly what we're not gonna do!  So, some ideas:

  • Read for an hour
  • Put on a homemade face mask
  • Write/ journal
  • Quiet time
  • Listen to inspiring audio
  • Collect inspiring quotes
  • Disconnect from all social media for the first and last hour of your day.
  • Make yourself a cup of tea and listen to some good music.

Have an end of the week reward.
