I did a lot of research on different animals and their symbolism as part of my AS Level Art project last year entitled 'People and Animals' and I thought it would be fun to share some of the stuff I learned. Here is Part 6: Ravens. Scroll to the end to get the links to the other parts!
Ravens

- In Greek Mythology, ravens are associated with Apollo, and are a symbol of good luck

- In Sweden, Ravens are known as the ghosts of the murdered

- The German emperor Frederick Barbarossa sleeps in a cave, and when the ravens leave, he will awake and restore Germany to its former greatness

- It is said that when ravens leave the Tower of London, England will fall

- In Aboriginal and Native American legends, the raven is believed to have originally been white
