If you like Pop, Indie Pop and Electro Pop you are in the right place. If you don't identify the genre then give it a shot and listen. This article is a playlist of my favorite songs of Lorde ( 7 songs) so after every music video i wrote some lyrics and why i like the song (very brevely). Hope you enjoy it as much as i do!

  • Buzzcut Season
The men up on the news /They try to tell us all that we will lose / But it's so easy in this blue /Where everything is good

For me this song is about the world that surround us which can really put a lot of pressure on us making us feel like losing our cool; we feel it when we see TV and people tell us how to be or how things should be. So the way we escape of this is just being with our friends and losing ourselves in the good music. We don't care about the things the world is saying, as long as we have each other we can do whatever we want.

  • Bravado
I'm faking glory / Lick my lips, toss my hair / And turn the smile on / And the story's brand new / But I can take it from here / I'll find my own bravado

I love this one. I feel so identify with it because she talks about the difficulties of being introvert and shy. She explains why we prefer being on silence and in our comfort zone but at the same time she basically says that it's no stopping her. She finds the way of being a more secure person even when it challenges her. As they say "Fake it till you make it" or as she says you find your own "Bravado".

  • Glory And Gore
You could try and take us /But we're the gladiators/ Everyone a rager / But secretly they're saviors

So basically in this song she talks about teens and how they are. Sometimes you can see them like the egocentric generation: they break things, they break rules and some other things but at the end of the day they are not bad. This teens have problems as all persons and sometimes when you can see their inner self you discover they also want to cry, they feel alone but also they are good souls.

Till here the three songs are for her first album called Pure Heroine. The following ones are from her latest album called Melodrama.

  • Sober
These are the games of the weekend /We pretend that we just don't care /But we care

For me this song its about young love. You go to this super cool party with the intention of telling your feelings to this person but for doing it you may need some alcohol, you don't know what can happen after that day when you'll be sober but in the meantime you just wanna dance, have fun and maybe see what happens with this person.

  • Sober II (Melodrama)
You asked if I was feeling it, I’m psycho high /Know you won’t remember in the morning when I speak my mind

The party has ended and with it the feelings and the rush. The person she likes its no longer there and her bravery just decrease when its about that lover. She just came back to the real life where all things can be a little more melodramatic as everyone plays its own role (in other words fake people maybe exaggerating situations and stuff).

  • Perfect Places
All the nights spent off our faces/ Trying to find these perfect places/ What the fuck are perfect places anyway?

Here she talks one more time of parties. At this age she may be a little confused, and feeling alone which is the reason why she desperately needs to be in what she calls "perfect places" where she can forget everything. She can forget all the things that she used to believe as an innocent kid but were changed in her teen/adult age. At the end this perfect places seem to not be perfect at all so...what is a perfect place?

  • Liability
So I guess I'll go home into the arms of the girl that I love / The only love I haven't screwed up / She's so hard to please but she's a forest fire

Okay. You should not listen this song when you are sad or something like that because it's so deep that it really gets to you. In this song she talks about how people push her away and make her feel like she doesn't deserve them because she is a liability. At the end she thinks that is better to be alone cause in one moment or other everyone is gonna leave her anyway.

That was all for today. This songs are really meaningful at least for me so i hope you had found something like your own reflection in them.

Wait for the next "This is" <3
