Happy Tuesday to all of you!

Today is day 3 of my April fitness challenge and I just wanted to share some simple and FREE steps to reach your optimal health. Nature has given us everything we need to reach our full potential.

Being in health, and content and happy at where you are is something everyone desires. Health goes hand in hand with happiness and purpose.

You don’t need an expensive gym membership, 10 step Korean skincare treatments, stylish gym clothes and the latest fitness equipment to be healthy.

It’s important to realize health depends on you, not what you have, where you buy things or anything else. Also, health is not just about what you’re eating. It’s also about what you’re thinking and saying.

S T E P ~ O N E : N U T R I T I O N

You are what you eat. If you want to be fresh, radiant and glowing you gotta eat that. You gotta think about what you are putting in your body. In order for you to function well you have to put the right kind of ‘fuel’ in your body. We are natural people, made from the earth so anything from the earth is gonna be good for us. Think about what you’re eating.

STEP ~ T W O : E X C E R C I S E

“The fact that you are not where you want to be, should be enough motivation.” No matter how slow you are you are already lapping those who never tried. The best part about working- out is how GOOD you feel afterwards. Remember that exercise is the poor man’s plastic surgery ~ hahaha you have to do what you have to do.

S T E P ~ T H R E E : W A T E R

Water is free and water is so good for you. Hydration is key, it helps with skin, flushing out toxins, boosting immune system, with headaches and cramps, increases energy and the list goes on and on and on. Carry a bottle with you on the daily, drink lots of water. Go grab a glass right now!

S T E P ~ F O U R : S U N

Sunshine is such a blessing and once again it’s completely free. Take walks outside, read on the porch at noonday, go for a swim in a nearby lake and just bask in the sun. I know winters can be hard, but make an effort to go outside and bask in golden rays. It’s beautiful when the sun paints you gold and you glitter in nature.

S T E P ~ F I V E : T E M P E R A N C E

Ever heard of self-control and moderation? Everything needs a balance, even good things in excess can become detrimental. Imagine if you were unable to stop laughing. Like 24/7. This would become annoying and disturbing! Temperance is important when it comes to eating, socializing, working, exercising. Everything. A life without control continually spirals into a disaster and all your efforts can be cancelled out if you are unable to control yourself.

S T E P ~ S I X : A I R

We spend way too much time indoors and glued to our phones. Way too much. Instead of hearing pictures of tropical destinations, cute picnics, and camping trips with friends, why don’t we go out there and take those photos ourselves! There is so much beauty in nature. Let’s watch more sunsets than Netflix.

S T E P ~ S E V E N : R E S T

Nightly rest is imperative to health. I also like to think of other kinds of rest. Physical, social, technological. I think taking breaks from social media, having some alone time for self care, taking breaks from work all these things have an impact on our overall emotional and physical state. Like anything that gets overworked, our bodies too can start malfunctioning when we don’t give it enough rest.

S T E P ~ E I G H T : T R U S T - I N - G O D

The final step is also super super important. Like I said health isn’t only physically, it also is emotional and spiritual. For me, my trust and relationship with God is basically an invisible means of support. Family, friends and loved ones fail us, our world is deteriorating, sometimes in our own lives we have many problems that may seem too big to handle. God is my best friend, He is bigger more powerful than I am, He’ll never abandon me, and His love for me is immense.

For those that don’t believe in God, you can still take the time to be grateful, to find happiness in helping others, and making a difference in our planet. You may want to check out the Bible, sometimes you can find pretty encouraging and uplifting verses.
