' All I ever wanted to do was get close to you'
The second day he walked into the loud and annoying U.S History class, he went straight to the back of the room. I sat in that row too.

In every class, I hated being called on, having any attention drawing to me, or people asking me questions in class.

But Jacob...
He made everything so much worse.
- He told the teacher I had the answers.
- Called me out for not doing my work.
- Asked me as many questions that he possibly could.
He did everything to make me want to hate him when I would never be able to.

I couldn't take it anymore so I skipped half of the class the next day to "go to the guidance counselor" (as my late pass explained to the teacher)

When I walked in, he came running out. I wanted to follow him but I couldn't risk another absence. He never came back. I walked back to my desk. My mind running millions of thoughts left and right inside my jumbled up mind. I got back to my desk and found a crumpled up piece of paper on my desk with a post-it with my name on it attached to it. I sat down and pretended to do my work as I opened the paper.
I read it slowly...
~ Lucia. I'm sorry. I tried. I failed. I think I like you and I fucked it all up yesterday. If you can, come talk. I'm behind the school where the teachers' park~
He never stayed.
He never came back the entire day.
