So apparently, the 21rst of March (which is today) is Slytherin Pride day. So I just wanted to make a little list on reasons why my fellow Slytherins and I can be proud of who we are. We tend to be the "outsider's house" sometimes, because of unfair prejudices.

1. Ambition and cunning are not bad traits to have

Being ambitious is not something to be ashamed of. It's completely harmless most of the time, and it can lead you to do great things. It also depends on your ambition. Some of us aspire to become great artists, or to change the world for the better. Your ambition can be like a fuel. It is the reason you get up every morning, the reason you work, the reason you keep going no matter the obstacles. Ambition leads to the greatest stories of human will.
And lets not forget cunning, which to me is just a proof of intelligence. It can come in handy when you have to get out of a tricky situation. It can help you survive. And you can also use it for the greater good. To me, cunning is the child of courage and intelligence.

2. We are not all Death-eaters

This seems quite obvious. You should never generalise about a group of people. Even within a group of similar personnalities, or traits, or interests, we are still different people from one another. We all have different stories, views and opinions.

3. Some of the greatest wizards were in our house

There are quite a few wizards we can be proud of. None other than Merlin was a Slytherin! One of the greatest wizards of all time! The one that gave his name to the Order of Merlin, a very high distinction in the wizarding world.
There's also Severus Snape, head of the house. Although he was (and stays imo) a bit of a dick, he was also a very talented wizard and he did end up fighting against Voldemort.

In the HP saga, the best exemple to me of a good slytherin would be Horace Slughorn. Although he did have some prejudices, he never let them play in disfavour of his students. He recognised greatness when he saw it regardless of blood purity. He also led the few slytherin who fought in the Battle of Hogwarts.

And more recently, we've had the exemple of Leta Lestrange in Fantastic Beasts. Not only was she not comfortable with her family's reputation and was close friend with a Hufflepuff, but she also sacrified herself for the people she loved.

4. We have the best aesthetics
