I have nothing against style. I love to buy clothes and dress up. I don’t have a definitive style, I can wear a girly dress and dress like an emo girl the very next day. I like different style and I don’t see why I would have to choose one between them, even if they are opposite.

But “La mode”.

You know ... the one that makes people buy the same shoes and the same type of T-shirt or pants.
I went to eat to downtown the other day and what hit me was that table of seven girls (I think they were seven) wearing the same coat. They were different and yet their makeup and their way to dress up were the same. Like saying (not intentionally of course) this is what a girl should look like today in the 21st century.
I don’t think that I exaggerate when I say that it has become more of a competition: who wears it better?

I guess that’s why I never embrace ONE style and absolutely not the current one “mode”. I feel like the society tells me how to dress up and I never really liked to be told want to do. Advice yes, but do not (impose me). Plus, I believe that not following “la mode” gives you an opportunity to express the real you, but that is what I think.

With that said, I’ll take a moment to clarify that if you are ones of the girls who dress up based on “la mode “ and like it, then go for it. I not telling you that it is wrong, I am saying that “I” don’t like it.
