Who does not like to read their books according to the seasons? Me, actually. I couldn't care less about the seasons outside and what book may or may not fit it. But I do think, that your mental state of mind does affect how much you enjoy a book and that the timing of the perfect book is important.
Because I don't know you personally and therefore can't say which book fits well with your current life situation, I decided to recommend books that fit to spring. Although I am not one of those whose mood is hugely affected by the weather, I know that that is the case for a lot of people.

The night is darkening round me – Emily Brontë

Can't make a spring reading list without a poem collection. This book written by the author from Wuthering Heights contains multiple wonderful poems filled with sadness, longing and despair.

The night is darkening round me,
The wild winds coldly blow;
But a tyrant spell has bound me,
And I cannot, cannot go.

Alice in Wonderland – Lewis Carroll

adorable, alice in wonderland, and amazing image

Alice in Wonderland is a lighthearted children story about this little girl that falls down the rabbit hole. It is easy to read, funny and a bit mad like the Cheshire Cat told her.

Aristotle and Dante discover the Secrets of the Universe – Benjamin Alire Sáenz

Ari and Dante don't seem to have a lot in common, with Dante being a ray of sunshine who loves to draw and be creative and Ari the definition of an angry teenager. But although they have their differences they become friends quickly, start to drive out in the desert to look at the stars and discover all the secrets of the universe.

The perfect book for a nice spring day to relax and sit outside. Because of the fact that it is very character driven it may not be a book for everyone, but I just love character driven books, with funny dialog and beautiful scenes.

Another secret of the universe: Sometimes pain was like a storm that came out of nowhere. The clearest summer could end in a downpour. Could end in lightning and thunder.

A Long, Long Sleep – Anna Sheehan

A Long, Long Sleep is a fairy tale retelling set in the future. Rose slept for 62 years before being woken from a kiss. Getting kissed from a total stranger is not the way you want to wake up and then finding out that everyone you know died because of some decease that you slept through, doesn't sound like a good waking either.

It's been a rather long time since I read this book but it stuck with me. The story made me shed a tear more than once and had me even crying at one point. This books deals with the fact that Rose lost everyone and wakes up in a new world where nothing seems the same. While the story goes on we learn about her life before and how she ended up sleeping so long. The love story in this book is one of the saddest, I have ever read (The fault in our stars was a happy story in comparison)

I didn't want the sun to rise. I didn't want the world to continue turning. I wanted the whole planet put into stasis until I could catch up.

Turtles all the way down – John Green

Aza Holmes can't control her thoughts and the moment the thought comes to her she can't do anything against it, has to think of the bacteria inside of her, on her hands and the infection that could already be in the little cut of her finger.

For everyone who hasn't read it yet because they are not sure if they are going to like it: First I did not want to read this book, because although I like John Greens books the last few I read were rather disappointing. But this book was fantastic, including quotes from famous people and poetry while telling a beautiful story about a girl who tries to live with her mental illness.

My mother's footsteps
Were so quiet
I barely heard her leave.

Every Heart a Doorway – Seanan McGuire

have not read it yet!!!

What happens with children like Wendy Darling or Alice who slipped into a magical world and returned home after? No one is going to believe what happened to them but you can't just forget such an experience. There is one place, where they can live with children like themselves, children who too try to get back.

The Wayward Children Series
Book 1: Every Heart a Doorway
Book 2: Down Among the Sticks and Bones
Book 3: Beneath the Sugar Sky
Book 4: In an Absent Dream

Because of the fact that I am bad with schedules I have not even started this book yet but I planned to include it and now we are here.

If I stay – Gayle Forman

Somehow I have decided that Spring Books have to be emotional with a chance of making you cry.

I just wanted to tell you that I understand if you go. It’s okay if you have to leave us. It’s okay if you want to stop fighting.

Goddess Test – Aimee Carter

Temporarily removed

Because of a lot of complicated incidents, Kate ends up with Hades the Lord of the Underworld and has to take a test to become his new wife (and the ruler of the Dead) after Persephone left him.

Some years ago, when I read this book, my knowledge in Greek Mythology wasn't that good (although I already knew a lot about the gods) therefore I can not guarantee that there won't be any little mistakes that I now can't remember and didn't realize back then. But the parts that I can remember (because I later realized that they came from different myths) were perfectly waved into the story.
Still I would recommend to just read the first book in the series and treat it like a stand - alone (That does work really good)

Sometimes we misjudge what is possible and what is not.

Hope you liked my spring - Books and are excited for the summer reading list because I am going to write one because I want to. Unless I don't find enough books to include. At the moment I have one.
So if you have any recommendations, please let me know.
Till my next article.

should I make a collection for just my own articles?
