Today's writing goal is to identify and acknowledge my legitimate fears. Many people may shy away from thinking about this topic. And I get it, why waste precious time pondering on such a negative subject? It has also got to do with the way our brains work. When it detects a barrier / challenge that could potentially hurt you emotionally, it runs back to it's comfort zone of doing something positive or mindless.

I find this exercise really important as these are the first few steps of eventually coming to terms with your fears. It could also help you understand why you do the things you do (or don't do) sometimes.

Being misunderstood

The ache and frustration when all you have were good intentions and you took extra caution to your actions just to avoid any sort of misunderstanding only to find yourself being judged and misunderstood. Over time, I've learned to stop explaining myself when I realized that people only understand from their level of perception.

Know that you can't make anyone think and feel as deeply as you do.
This is your tragedy.....
Because you understand them
but they do not understand you.

Being taken for granted

This is something that makes me feel helpless. Because you've done your part well but you can't force others to appreciate you if they simply don't. Sometimes it may be mind boggling as to how the other person could not appreciate, if not reciprocate. Things that were known as common sense suddenly doesn't seem so common to others anymore.

When I give, I'm all in. But when things start being taken for granted, I won't get angry and I won't be spiteful. I'll just get smart and I'll change your role in my life. Because when I'm done, there's no looking back.
