Now that it's been almost four years since I graduated high school, I am realizing some things that I didn't know or believe back then. I'd like to share them with you girls who are still in high school.

Cherish The Friends You Have Now

No one wants to hear this, but let's face it. With different life goals as your friends, you may end up going to different colleges. Maybe they will move out of state, and become close friends with someone else. This might sound sad, but it's not sad after awhile. People outgrow each other and find different people to love. You will probably keep in contact with two or three friends from high school if you're lucky. So cherish your memories with your friends, don't hold grudges, tell your friends you love them, and do everything you can for them. You'll thank me later.

Do Extra Curricular Activites

As someone with no interest in sports or clubs, I literally did nothing but go to school, sleep, and hang out with friends. But in college, I tried to find first a job and had nothing to put on my resume. So if you're an introvert like me, at least get involved in something. Whether it be dance or a school club or even volunteer. Just find something please or you might not know what to say when someone says "tell me a little bit about yourself".

Your Teachers Care About You

Your teachers might tell you things like, "I'm telling you this because I care about you," They're not lying. You'll come to realize that. They might also say that your college professors won't care about you. That's actually not true. College professors, at least at community college, try their best to help you make the best decisions for yourself. So please listen to them and appreciate them.

Be on Time

I cannot stress this enough. In college, you get to choose your own schedule and it's up to you whether or not you even show up. But your grade depends on it. I spent my whole high school days procrastinating and doing whatever I wanted and in college I got even worse. So please realize being on time is very important with work, school, and even social events. People tend to get really annoyed with that.
