Hello, beautiful hearters and Smilers! Happy Friday! As you can tell from the title, we have a bit of a heavy topic today. There's a lot that can go into this and sadly I can't name it all in this article. So this will be split into a few articles. Today we'll be discussing how to help those who are bullied. Let's get into it, shall we?

#TheSmileProject -- Against Bullying (Part 1)

How many of you have ever been bullied? I have. More than once, actually. Bullying isn't fun. It leaves people feeling defeated, unwanted, hopeless, and even unloved. There are some ways to help people who are bullied.

1. Reach Out To Them.

Tell the person who is being bullied that you're there for them. At this point, they might feel like they don't have any friends. In some cases, they really don't. So reach out to them. Let them know you're there. Be there for them. Help them get through this tough time. Be their friend. Trust me, it helps.

2. Speak Out.

If you see someone being bullied in then hall, speak up. Don't stand there and watch it all go down. If you don't like confrontation, then talk to the person who was being called names or shoved in the hall and tell them you'll go with them to bring it up to the principle or vice principle.

3. Sit With Them.

If they feel like they have no one, sit with them during lunch or class. Just like the first step, make sure they know you're there. No one should ever have to sit alone.

4. Be With Them Outside of School.

Being friends with them at school is one thing, but it's a different thing outside of school. Make sure you're there as much as you possibly can be.

5. Forget About Labels.

I know in school it can be tough with labels and how others perceive you. Don't let that get in the way of helping others. Would you rather be part of the in-crowd and further make someone's life horrible, or risk being kicked out of that crowd just to be friends with someone who needs it? I don't know about you, but I'd choose the latter.

That's all I have for you guys. Bullying is never okay. It messes with so many people's lives. Say no to bullying.

Like always, I hope you have an amazing day and rest of your weekend. Keep smiling. You never know who will need it.
