For as long as I could remember, writing has been a big passion of mine.

A few years ago, I discovered a writing platform, Wattpad, and I began writing, back then I was a preteen who just liked writing fan-fiction and writing poems. Today, I'm a teenager looking to make a career out of writing.

When I branched out of my preteen fan-fiction stage, I forgot all about that Wattpad account and created a new account (kailynnwrites). Where I now publish teen/adult fiction books that deal with dark subject lines of matter (by this I mean depression, bullying, etc. like taboo subjects).

Last summer, I got my mother onboard with this dream of mine; and she encouraged me to breach out of my comfort zone in writing and write about subjects I rarely enjoy. Taking her advice, I created a writing challenge that has allowed me to find out what I enjoy to write and what I will most likely not bother with.

Science Fiction
Science has always interested me but I've never watched SciFi movies/shows or read books about it, I like learning about actual science. This was the first challenge I put myself up to and the first one I wrote and plan to publish.

I have always swung away from the happily ever after type endings. Today, I have been branching into writing romance in most of all my works, but I continue to keep them in a realistic state of being.

One thing I hate about reading a series of books the wait for the next one to come out. Today, I still haven't written a series but I don't have books that involve characters from others that belong in a triology.

I prefer horror movies or horror stories. The challenge for horror was interesting, I love watching horror movies, so I figured I could write a book about horror. It wasn't as simple as I thought, but I managed to write a book about witches and the Devil working together - in human form.

𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒸𝒽𝒶𝓁𝓁𝑒𝓃𝑔𝑒 𝒾𝓈: write a short story or a book about a genre of writing you dislike/never wrote about before.

This challenge helped me figure out more about what type of writing I enjoy, plus my writing style.
