Hello sweet readers, I recommend to read my first article about Depression before you read this. Although it's not really necessary, I talk there about my own Depression and why I started to write this article.

I already have written down some tips in my first article, but everyone is different and for everyone different things work.
So here are my other tips, which work for me when I struggle with my negative thoughts to get through the day.

Although it might not be for everyone, this can help clear up your mind.
First start by just trying it, and not telling yourself that it will never work for you. That's exactly what I did.
But eventually I tried it.
I put some meditation music on (on Spotify you have loads of choice).
Closed the curtains and lighted a candle.

Try to find a comfortable place where you can sit down or just lay on the ground and stare at the wall.
Start with meditating for 10 minutes.
I did not, I started with 30 minutes. Which made me eventually cry.
So I think starting with 10 minutes might be just fine if you're a beginner with heavy thoughts. You can find more meditation tips online if you really want to try it!
But the best thing when you do this is to remember that you are not your thoughts, you just simply have thoughts.

Evening Routine
I lost my own routine when I went trough my depression and just brushed my teeth and jumped into bed where I tried to avoid my thoughts for hours.
But I think everyone needs to have a routine when going to bed.
A thing which helps for me, is to chose an outfit for the next day.
Wash my face and take a shower or braid my hair so I have cute curls in the morning. I think an evening routine is quite nice because you take the time to take care of yourself. And I mostly like to do this with jazz music on the back ground from Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.

Also writing before you go to sleep helps to get your thoughts in order.

Sometimes it can be hard to fall asleep with a lot of feelings, but taking your time in the evening letting your brain sink in that you are going to bed, it helps to fall asleep quicker.

Watch Pet videos
Specially the happy cheery dog videos make me feel really happy.
But other pets can help you feel loved too. And if you have a pet, spend a lot of time with them, you'll be touched about how caring and loving they are (sometimes better then people too).

If you don't know The Dodo search it on YouTube or Facebook, this cheers up my day a lot. The profile shares a lot of (at first) sad pet stories but eventually end very well, and it touches your heart and soul.

Taking time when cooking, baking or just making breakfast.
Make a colourful plate for yourself, eating good is the next step in feeling good.

My last tip for now is:
Make goals for yourself
Which countries would you like to visit in the future, which things would you like to do which you have never done and what do you want to achieve.
Don't you dare think that you will not be able to do the things you've written down as goals.
Remember that you have time... plenty of time!

Don't stop, until you are proud of yourself
