Sometimes it's not about the meaning of the message, but more about the way it is presented and the way the words were chosen. In this article you'll understand the three most important lessons of my life.

1: Happiness may not be a choice, positivity is.

It is hard, I know, but it is. Fact is, sometimes you're too weak and your own sadness is too comfortable to see it clearly. I'm not saying that by thinking that everything is awesome your life will become awesome and you'll be the happiest person in the world - hell no. It's not that easy.

I have come to realise that there's something positive in everyone's lives and if there isn't you should make a change. At the end of the day, you are the one that will fight for yourself the best. Not because everyone else wants to hurt you, but because others might not know what you want and need as well as you do, since they'll always see things mixed with their own wishes and views. Of course this only applies to most people of today's society, there are exceptions to every rule. You can't expect someone with a chemical imbalance to just rise and shine! or anyone that is being abused to get over it! or someone that is living in a war zone to just be grateful.

I'm just saying, in 95% of the cases, there are several ways out and suicide is not one of them. The way out might take some time and risks, but really, what do you have to lose?

Life is a rollercoaster and you have to enjoy every second of it. In the end you'll regret wasting your time on negative things and being caught in that downwards spiral.
My advice: Do mindfullness, listen to one inspirational talk a day, unfollow all the negative pages, practice self care, find your style, find out who you are by listening to yourself, find something you like doing and get better at it everyday and make a journal you spend a few minutes on a day to create something beautiful to look back at.

2: Nothing else matters but you.

I'm not talking about being selfish, but about thinking it through. Who cares what people think? can be taken to an extreme, but that's not what I'm referring to. Of course, nobody leaves the house in their pyjamas and that's mainly because of what others might think. Now: Turn that fear of judgement into a tool to help yourself. It's always about the image you want to present and why. If you want to present a certain image of yourself that just isn't true because you just want to fit in - that is wrong, toxic and harmful. However, presenting a positive image you can relate and feel happy and comfortable about to the public - that is more than right! Finding a style and an aesthetic is really important to the process of finding and - most importantly - shaping yourself.

Work on yourself, don't just change. Don't start shaping yourself before you've found out who you really are and who you want to become. My advice: Write down positive and negative characteristics of yourself, things you like, things you dislike, favourite food, songs, movies, etc. and on an other page, write down what you want to do, who you want to become, things you want to learn/have learnt, aesthetics you want to have, faults you wouldn't mind having, etc. And then just read it a few times a month to keep you inspired.

I'm a nihilist, yes. And it actually helped me fight depression. Life is meaningless, I'm worthless and if I died the world would just keep on spinning. Everything is meaningless! What if the universe just disappeared? Nothing would happen, because we have the wrong concept of "meaning". There is no bigger meaning and it doesn't matter because it has to matter to us, not to the world. Who is life supposed to make sense to? Does your life make sense to you? If it doesn't, improve! Work on it! But really, at the end of the day, who cares that nothing has a meaning as long as it means something to you.

3: Stand up for yourself, you are holding the steering wheel of your own life. Everyone else are just training wheels.

You exist, you're this person that has a future, a past and a present. There are many things you can barely influence in life, but you can always work on your reaction. Fight back! If you don't, nobody else will. You can have hundreds of people fighting for you but nobody will actually fight for what you want. They'll always fight for what they think is right and if it gets too hard on themselves, they'll stop. Because nobody can ever make himself miserable for others - you neither! Drop toxic people, surround yourself with who and what you like, take some time for yourself, defend yourself, stand up for yourself! Speak your mind, change your world

This is day 21 of the 30 days writing challenge i'm taking part in. Please take my words into account, I hope I was helpful!
