I have always been a fan of movies from the 80s and thought I would share some of my favorites since everybody has fallen in love with this decade recently. There is still a lot of movies from the 80s that I haven't seen yet so maybe I will do a part two someday. I hope you enjoy and find something that catches your attention!

Indiana Jones and The Raiders of The Lost Ark (1981)

"Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?"

If you haven't seen this classic yet then do yourself a favor and watch it! Indiana Jones is probably one of the coolest movie characters of all time. This film is packed with action and adventure from start to finish and has an amazing score.

Dirty Dancing (1987)

"Nobody buts Baby in the corner"

I can't remember how many times I have watched this movie. It always puts me in a good mood. Also the soundtrack got some nice 80s vibes to it. If you're a sucker for romantic comedies, this one is for you.

Stand By Me (1986)

"I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?"

This movie is based on the Stephen King novel "The Body" and it's a story about the importance of friendship and growing up. Stand By Me perfectly portrays that feeling about transitioning from childhood to adulthood. It warms my heart every time I watch it and makes me feel nostalgic for a time I didn't live in. Also River Phoenix's performance is so sincere and moving that it makes me love the movie even more.

The Outsiders (1983)

"Stay gold Ponyboy"

This Outsiders is not just one of my favorite movies but it is also my favorite book. It's such a good adaptation and it stays true to the story and it's characters! If you like hot guys from the 80s and touching stories, then I got a movie for you. The Outsiders tells a story about growing up on the wrong side of the town and the desperation about wanting to belong somewhere. It also shows you what real friendship looks like and that there's still a lot of good in the world.

Labyrinth (1986)

"It's only forever, not long at all"

Oh boy did this movie come as a surprise. I honestly thought I wouldn't like it but HOW WRONG I WAS. It such a weird movie but yet so good! Especially if you love David Bowie singing along with talking puppets. Great music, funny characters and it has that typical cheesy 80s vibe to it. This movie will definitely get you in a good mood... And make you feel a weird attraction to Bowie as the Goblin King.

The Princess Bride (1987)

"We'll never survive." "Nonsense. You're only saying that because no one ever has."

Oh look, another one of those weird 80s fantasy movies. This one has less glitter and Bowie but more humor and romance. I have never seen a movie with so many memorable and hilarious one-liners. This movie doesn't take itself serious at all which makes it so much more enjoyable to watch. The comedy is on point and it has some very unique characters you rarely see in todays movies. It also has it's cute and romantic moments.

Heathers (1988)

"The extreme always seems to make an impression."

The 80s is notorious for all it's awesome teen movies and Heathers is probably one of my favorites. I watched it without knowing what it was about and I thought it was going to be your typical boy meets girl romantic comedy but NO NO. This movie has a dark twist to it. Its a dark comedy that makes fun of the typical teen movies of this era. Also Christian Slater is so DAMN FINE in this movie. And Wionna Ryder is a queen.

Back to the Future (1985)

If you're a fan of sci-fi and cult classics then you should check this gem out. One of my all time favorites! It's hilarious, has a original story, funny characters and will get you in a good mood. Honestly everyone should see Back to the Future at least once in their life, so why not do yourself a favor and go watch it?

The Breakfast Club (1985)

This one is for the ones who are a fan of teen movies. A funny, witty and touching story that every teenager can relate to. It takes up serious topics and talks about growing up while still being funny and enjoyable. Its a classic for a reason.

These are only a few of my favorites. Maybe I will do a part two someday :)
