➴ Auggie is a 10-year-old boy with a facial abnormality, he longs to be normal, on the inside he is normal. But normal people don’t get stared at everywhere they go and they definitely do not have people running away at the sight of them.

He has never been to a real school, having spent his whole life being home-schooled by his parents. Now, Auggie is about to go to school for the first time in his life and he is terrified. Acceptance is all Auggie really wants. For people to choose to be his friend because they want to be, not because they feel sorry for him.

Can Auggie show his classmates that just because he has a facial abnormality, on the inside, he is just like them?

quote, wonder, and book quote image

➴ I loved this book. What Auggie thinks about himself and the way some people treat him is so heart-breaking. But, this book is written from many different people’s perspectives, so though it is heart-breaking it is also incredible to read how this one boy has affected so many people’s lives for the better. This book really shows you that just because someone may not look like you, they really aren’t that different. It is inspirational and beautiful and it has such a strong message. I 100% recommend this book to everyone. You will not regret it.
