Here are some places you must visit when you come to the Netherlands!

1. Amsterdam

Our capital and also the biggest city in Holland: Amsterdam. It's famous for its canals and cute houses, but also for the many museums, like the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, where you can see real paintings from famous Dutch painters like Vincent van Gogh and Rembrandt van Rijn, but also museums like the Anne Frank House. Definitely worth a visit!

2. Keukenhof

Ofcourse Holland is famous for its tulips, and Keukenhof is the place where you can see millions of them. The enormous fields full of flowers are really impressive and definitely a must-see!

3. De Hoge Veluwe National Park

De Hoge Veluwe is the biggest national park in Holland and it's gorgeous. There are sand dunes, woodlands, heathland, and many more beautiful landscapes. It's also great to grab a bike here (where Holland is also famous for) and discover the national park on the bike, because you can come on hidden places which are amazing.

4. The Wadden Islands

In the North of our country can you find five small islands: Texel with long, sandy beaches, forested Vlieland is the most remote, Terschelling has huge collonies of rare birds, Ameland has a history of whaling and Schiermonnikoog is the smallest. If you're up for a challenge, you can go 'wadlopen', which means you're going to walk from island to island. A great experience!

5. The Delta Project

As you might know, more than half of Holland is below sea level and throughout our history we've had many big water disasters, so in 1950 we built a huge dam which keeps us safe from the sea. It's really impressive to see!

6. Kinderdijk

Windmills, windmills everywhere. Actually that's all you can say about Kinderdijk, but if you love the typical Dutch stuff, Kinderdijk is definitely worth a visit!

7. The Rijksmuseum

I mentioned it at number 1, but I thought I should make a special part about the Rijksmuseum. It's a really special museum with over 7 million art pieces, included about 5000 paintings from famous artists. It's also pretty big, so you should come back if you can't see everything in one day!

8. Rotterdam

The second largest city in the Netherlands with one of the biggest ports in the entire world: Rotterdam. It has amazing architecture which is really different from Amsterdam, so both cities are a must-see!
