This article is all about my morning, natural, cruelty-free skincare routine. Four simple, quick steps that are easy to follow will make your skin healthier and glowing. These natural products don't harm my skin or cause any breakouts, but heal my acne scars, redness and hyperpigmentation and also balance my combination skin without making it too dry or overly oily.

Step 1

I wash my face as soon as I wake up, so as to clean off any dirt and oils that gathered up during the night. I use a natural bar soap made of olive oil and cinnamon essential oil (I buy it from the pharmacy). I just lather the soap between my hands and then gently rub the foam on my face in circular motions. You can use any kind of soap that works for you, just make sure it is as natural as possible and not too drying, as you don't need any harsh chemicals on your face, especially first thing in the morning. Some people might say that a soap bar is unhygienic, but as long as you don't share it with others, make sure to wash your hands and it after every use and keep locked it in a soap case away from bacteria, you will have no problems. I would suggest raw honey as a great alternative cleanser as well, it sounds messy but it works miracles.

Step 2

In the morning, especially, I use a light toner, since I will be later "burdening" my skin with makeup and all that jazz. So, to tone my face I use pure rose water (my tip is to try and find the one that is edible as well, so that you will be sure it is harmless for your face too), in which I've added a few drops of lavender essential oil. You can use any kind of essential oil suitable for your skin type and needs, or you can simply use pure rose water on its own, since it's great at balancing your skin's ph.

Step 3

Once again a simple, natural product, ideal for any skin type and deeply hydrating. What it is? Pure aloe vera gel, of course. It gets absorbed super quick, has anti-aging and acne fighting properties and will keep you moisturized all day long, without clogging your pores. It looks and lasts amazing underneath your makeup too, as long as you let it dry. Having an aloe vera plant is the best and most natural option, but if not, just try to find one with the least amount of ingredients and the highest percentage of aloe vera in it.

Step 4

I cannot stress this enough, always, always, always wear sunscreen! And by always I mean every single day of the year, even when the weather is bad. Sunscreen protects your skin from cancer, aging and also, stops your discoloration and hyperpigmentation from getting more intense. Highly important is to always apply some on your neck as well, just like with moisturizer, and of course, make sure it has an spf of 30 and higher. Don't trust your spf 15 bb cream or whatever else makeup product. Instead choose a good sunscreen with a high spf for good protection and even healthier skin. (Wear spf on your lips too!)

That is all I do to take care of my skin in the morning, simple, quick and easy. I prep it for makeup and for the day, while also going as natural as possible about it, because let's be real, you don't need a bunch of chemicals to keep your skin clean and healthy, trust me I know it, I've tried it. I love this skincare routine, as it is very inexpensive, easily accessible, natural, cruelty-free and can suit all different types of skin, with slight adjustments. It has also helped my skin clear up a lot, heal and become less oily, which is my goal in life pretty much.

P.S. I'm not a dermatologist or anything, these products just work great for me and I'm not afraid to recommend them because they are natural, so no harsh chemicals will damage your skin. However, I cannot guarantee that they will work for you too.
