So just recently (about 4 months ago) i was captivated by the world of selfcare and the life tips for clearing your skin I would see on every single social media platform I use. So I started doing a skincare routine, doing my research and got sucked into this new world. Now I'm here, ready to give other people advice on how to take care of their own skin and take care of themselves:)

Everyone's skin is different, but whether you have oily skin, dry skin. sensitive skin or combo skin, there are a few basics everyone needs learn.
1.) Finding your skin type
Finding your skin type is essential. It allows you to know what your prone to, what products are safe to use, and what isn't. Before starting a skincare routine, I urge you to do your research and find out.
2.) Cleaning
Once you have found your skin type, it's time to start getting your routine together. Wash your face AT LEAST 2 TIMES A DAY. This makes sure all the sweat, oil and dirt that has built up comes off. If you do makeup, always wash it off before going to bed. Find a cleaner that's right for your skin type, just make sure it's non comedogenic - this means that it won't clog your pores.
2.) Exfoliate
Exfoliating clears away all your dead skin cells, helping your skin glow. It's very important to exfoliate but DON'T do it everyday, this will irritate your skin and just create more problems. If you have sensitive skin, make sure to use a gentle exfoliant. Aveeno has some of the best ones I've ever used. You really should only exfoliate 2-3 times A WEEK.
3.) Tone
Having a toner is EXTREMELY important in a skincare routine. It helps maintain your skins natural ph balance, closes your pores, clears away any leftover dirt and oils and refreshes skin.
4.) Moisturize
After washing your face you have stripped it of all your natural oils and have left it dry, moisturizing is very important to have healthy skin. Even oily skin needs to be moisturized, not doing this may actually cause more oil on your face. Make sure to use a non comedogenic moisturizer with spf to protect your skin from sun damage.
- Face masks: face masks are a fun and easy way to clear your skin. They have ones for calming skin, clearing acne and blackheads, and to help your skin to achieve that healthy glow. For results use 2-3 times a week.
- Serums: facial serums are used to protect your skin, they can also have anti aging benefits, help to clear acne, hydrate skin and sun protection. 1-2 times a day.
- Eye creams: to help dark circles, eye bags and aging underneath your eyes. Not always necessary, if you don't have dark circles or eye bags there's no need for this product. 1-2 times a day, in the evening is a must.
- Acne treatments: can be prescription or bought from anywhere. Only use on active acne spots. Use as often as directed.

That's it! Hope this helped for anyone who wanted to start a skincare routine! Good luck!
