So today's article is going to be a bit different, so as you guys know today is International Women's Day and in school we had inspirational females talk to us about the struggles they went to and how they finally reached a place in their life that they are happy. So I'm going to tell you guys about my life and what I want to do in the future.

Since I'm Sri Lankan it's quite difficult to fit into a European country, I was born and spent the first five years of my life in Germany, however, like any other country there were people who looked at my family differently because we weren't white or German even though I class myself as German Sri Lankan. But when I had moved to England there had been more of an issue that I was brown and a girl. Like I was a confident girl in Primary School and I had been into sports but many people had actually just laughed me of being sexist and racist.

Teen Years

I don't know why I titled it that when I am still in my teen years but anyways. I had started secondary school and had turned into a shy mouse, no joke and it had been very easy to blend in the background minus my skin colour but I didn't mind it at all. My school had been quite sexist and had only let the boys play football and boxing as it wasn't the sports for girls to be doing. Aca-scuse me? But anyways that had ruined a lot of girls chance at being tougher and enjoy all sports.

Dream Career

I want to be a criminal lawyer when I am older because I love talking and I want to help the world out in some way, however, this is highly frowned upon in Asian community and by this I don't mean Sri Lankan but its hard to be able to tell people what you want to do when all they think of is that its not for a girl.

Women's Day

International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8 every year. It commemorates the movement for women's rights. March 8 was suggested by the 1910 International Socialist Woman's Conference to become an "International Woman's Day."

Be proud to be a woman because of the females we were able to finally vote and do things that we weren't allowed to. Don't think of it as a curse because in the end we are what we are and we must be happy of it.

This may confuse people but I'm saying it loud and clear I am a feminist, don't attack me if you don't know what it actually means.

That's it for this article, I hope you enjoyed and if you are a feminist heart this cause why not? I'd love it if you guys would tell me your stories and if you've faced any challenges along the way of being females and what you would like to do.
