Hello loves, I struggled for years with accepting my natural curls and i always straightened my hair and it caused bad heat damage that I'm still recovering from.

*Let me start off by saying this isn't something that will happen in days or even weeks. But please learn to embrace your curls because curls are beautiful, i know most of us would want straight hair but we look much more exotic and beautiful embracing our curls. 2018 is the year of curls i swear.

STEP 1: NO HEAT! Put down the heat styling tools. If you want to get those beautiful curls back, do not use any heat on your hair. There are many ways on youtube to straighten/curl your hair without heat so try some of those.

STEP 2: Get hair products meant for curly hair. Do not get the cheap ones at walmart or the ones that say they are meant for "all types of hair" because i promise you it is NOT meant for curly hair.

STEP 3: Check the ingredients in your products, some chemicals they put in products are very harsh on our hair. I will list a bunch of things to look out for.
Sulfates: Alkylbenzene Sulfonate, Ammonium Laureth or Lauryl Sulfate, Ammonium or Sodium Xylenesulfonate, Dioctyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate, Ethyl PEG-15 Cocamine Sulfate, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate, Sodium Laureth, Myreth, or Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, TEA-Dodecylbenzenesulfonate

Silicones: Cetearyl Methicone, Cetyl Dimethicone, Dimethicone Dimethiconol, Stearyl Dimethicone
(These are only some not all but i didn't want to make a whole book about it)

STEP 3: Choose your wash days, it's not good to wash your hair too often. I would say 2 to 3 days each week is good.

STEP 4: Try washing your hair with CONDITIONER ONLY every once in a while to prevent washing all your natural oils out of your hair with shampoo. I know this might be hard for us girls with dry or even oily scalp.

STEP 5: DEEP CONDITIONERS! They will save your life 100%. Be sure to get ones meant for curly hair. I recommend "Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner"

STEP 6: PLEASE DO NOT DRY YOUR HAIR WITH A TOWEL OR WRAP IT IN ONE! This causes breakage. Dry your hair with a cotton t-shirt, this prevents breakage and frizz.

STEP 7: Oil your hair ladies, it is so important to oil your scalp and ends every wash day, I use many different ones but make sure to massage it into your scalp and run it through your ends gently.

STEP 8: If it wasn't already obvious, don't brush your hair when its dry because it breaks off your hair.

STEP 9: Trim your ends, but not often. They tell you to trim your ends once a month or every two months but only do it when you have split ends or when its needed. (If you don't get your split ends trimmed more of your hair will continue to split and you'll lose my hair than you're growing)

STEP 10: Wrap your hair up at night or sleep on a silk pillowcase to prevent bad hair in the morning.

Thank you for reading my tips even though they are probably terrible. But this helped me get my curls back.
