I love my mom.

She's my favorite person, my best friend. She's had her share of struggle and has a lot of good advice that's come from it. Everything she's said has helped me, and I thought I'd share some of it with you guys.

Here we go!
"Never leave home without a tampon, an emergency $20 bill, band aids, your keys, and your phone."

The tampon is pretty self explanatory. If you have a period or have friends who do, a tampon or pad can be a lifesaver. I always have an "emergency 20" tucked away in my wallet. It's not to spend on clothes or makeup at the mall, but it's good to know if you're ever in a situation where you need it, it's there. The band aids were cause I was veeeery clumsy, and the rest is self explanatory.

"Fake it 'till you make it."

When I was going through a very hard time where I was sad and very not confident, she told me this over and over again. Honestly, it works, especially with confidence.

"Don't do anything with a boy (or girl) unless you're sure."

My mom and I were always pretty open about the fact that sex was a thing. There was no point in trying to hide it, especially when she could inform me of ways to be safe. So she gave me advice. Not to feel pressure, to know that you're beautiful, and if worst comes to worst you can always please yourself. And, oh, BE SAFE.

"If you're ever sad, come in to my room at 5 am. I don't care how late it is. We can get a tub of ice cream and watch Netflix."

This taught me that it's important to have someone in your life like this. Unconditional love without judgement. Wether it be your mom or a friend or a sibling or whoever, they are so important to have.

"If it won't matter in 15 years, it isn't worth your 15 minutes."

This has been something I've lived by since my mom's told me about it. It applies to relationships, drama, friends, school, you name it. Will this petty teenage drama really matter when you're 30? Then don't spend 15 minutes of your time worrying about it.

That's it for now.

If I remember any more, I'll make a part two. I just wanted to share some of the things that have made me better :)
